I can totally remember everyone wanting one of these. And a friend’s mum making them for loads of us.

anyone else remember this quirky fashion?

Don't think that fashion reached London. It was either goth/rock chick or pop princess looks where I lived, I was the former

I grew up in SW1. My mother pointed out to me that I have been wearing fair isle jumpers and DM boots for as long as she can remember. In 6th form - 87 to 89 - rotated a cream Arran jumper I got from Oxfam, a navy fisherman jumper my gm knitted me and a purple/green fair isle I got from a climbing shop in N Wales.
