Woke up up with bite mark - bat?

Hello

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong thread for such a post. A few nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I saw something small (but larger than an insect) briefly fly slowly in our bedroom. I should say I had just come back from a work xmas party so was a little more than tipsy so dismissed it as nothing and the bedroom windows were shut. A few days later I've noticed what to me looks very much like a small bite mark on my finger (two pin prick dots) - someone jokingly mentioned it could of been Bat - but this has got me very concerned (because of rabies). Has anyone got any advice what to do if I should book an urgent GP appointment to get it checked (or even go to A&E?) to see if I need vaccines as bats can carry rabies. Currently very anxious, as I was drunk so may not of noticed getting bitten, so any advice would be really appreciated? I know rabies is exceptionally rare in bats and I cant say what I saw was a bat but the thought of it incredibly scary.

Thank you!

It was the speckled band!

Sorry, the three pipe problem was meant to be in response to the speckled band.

Op, get advice from a medical professional and not people on the Internet who are speaking from a place of their own frustrations with our NHS, and without relevant knowledge.

The appointment has been made by 111, attend it. They will have access to a helpline who will assess the risk for you, and you will either be reassured that you do not need the vaccine, or you will receive the injections - which I gather from second hand stories is not so dramatic a thing as it once was. Either way, and I cannot stress this enough, listen to the doctor and not mumsnet.

What time is your appointment? Just so I know when to check back about the two tiny red dots you've got on your finger, or unidentified drunken injury, that you've gone to A&E for.

I think maybe the 111 advisor just wanted to give the overworked, underpaid, stressed out A&E staff a laugh this holiday season.

There is no harm getting the rabies vaccine. Rabies is fatal if symptoms develop and the vaccine protects 100% against it if taken in time. So I'd do that.

Mosquito. Has been mild, I am allergic to their bites and have exactly the same 2 dots but one on each finger of the right hand. My hand was itchy and swollen in the morning.

Spider bite.
