Florida 13 weeks & counting - What do I absolutely Need

Family of 4 - including 4 year old twins are going to Florida in 13 weeks. We're staying in a villa with my SIL, MIL & Niece & Nephew

Our twins haven't used their pushchair in ages but I'm planning on taking it with us due to airport waits and for days out.

What do I absolutely need that I might not have thought of?

Travel company say that we can take our own car seats as part of the baggage allowance but honestly I think at least 3 cases, a double pushchair and 2 car seats might be ambitious

Those of you who have stayed in a villa, have you taken any food with you? I'm thinking cereal - my twins are very fussy and only really like shreddies or weetabix

TIA

You won’t find Weetabix in the average supermarket, so if you need that, I’d take it. You can probably find some version of shredded wheat though.

The push chair is a good idea as tramping around Disney and the like is exhausting. It’s also useful for transporting supplies.

Since you’re renting a house, I’d just plan on making a visit to a supermarket to stock up on food stuff and sun cream and similar.

Sun hats would be advisable too, but could be picked up locally if necessary. Rain ponchos might also be necessary in the afternoon. Refillable water bottles for everyone also a good idea.

Have fun!

You are going to need car seats though so are you hiring them with the cars? I have taken food before and definitely tea as their tea is useless. All toiletries are really expensive there so take enough sun cream etc
I take it your insurance and ESTAs are sorted and you have a debit or credit card that doesnt have foreign transaction fees - we use a Starling card when we travel.
Phones - will your data work there and if not what are you doing?
Do you know the ins and outs of the Disney rules now?

A handful of dollar and quarter coins and a few lowish value notes. Useful for when you first get there and everyone expects tips so better than handing them the smallest note the bank gave you. Although wouldn't surprise me if they had card machines for tips nowadays!

sorry yes we thought we would hire them with the hire cars

Insurance is not yet sorted as my DD is waiting for an operation. This should take place in January, but I've been told that this is not guaranteed due to strikes etc. I've spoken to a few travel insurance companies who have said wait until the op has taken place - if it doesn't take place before the holiday then come back to us. If it's any later than mid Feb we won't go ahead until we come back.

I have absolutely no clue about disney - the old rules or the new rules. It's something I need to read up on. I think we're just doing Disney, I think our girls are too young to do universal. The tickets for Disney alone are £2k for the 4 of us

@omnishambles good call on the tea bags!

I’ve lived here for well over 30 years and still buy my tea bags in Ireland when I’m home visiting! It still doesn’t taste as good because the water is different, but better than American tea.

I also take a packet of gingers to be honest. Plus all the medicines I might possible need - a travel first aid kit. We always need plasters and suchlike.

TheDibb is the best place for Disney info - it is fiendishly difficult now with all the new bookings, rules etc. Also watch a few TimTracker videos on Youtube where he explains it. You don't want to spend 2k without a plan. Are your inlaws likely to get out of the house and to the Disney gates by rope drop? If not don't wait for them - arrange to meet them later.
