If a crop is harvested in e.g. September 2023, when does it appear on supermarket shelves?

Very much depends what it is, were you thinking of something specific?

Depends on what it is and what the finished product is I would think.

Grains, things like wheat and barley. I think those are harvested in Sep but I could be wrong! Anyway, I was thinking about the timeline from field to shelf for grains.

Grew up farming, grains get harvested and then dried, they can then be stored in big piles like sand dunes or into bags and if kept dry etc can last months - years. Farmers can sell at any point in this process but often wait for the prices to be good then will sell some or all of their crop. If stored for over months this would normally be big grain companies with proper storage facilities controlled for light/humidity/temperature etc.
