Sick either side of weekend?

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹

I have been battling a cold, chest infection and sinus infection for weeks. Every time I think itโ€™s going, it comes back with a vengeance. Itโ€™s been an utterly miserable month at least, but Iโ€™ve didnโ€™t have a day off work with it until last Friday.

After a night of no sleep, coughing, sneezing and snotting, I just couldnโ€™t do another day. I should probably mention Iโ€™m a secondary teacher, so I took Friday off sick.

I am feeling a little better today, less chesty and less snotty, but my sinuses are murder and my headaches terribly.

Tomorrow I have a challenging day, with duty so no breaks and right now I canโ€™t face it. I want to get back in for my exam classes Tuesday though, but Tuesday is an easier day altogether.

Would it be really bad (if I still fee like this in the morning) to take tomorrow off and go back Tuesday? I hate the fact Iโ€™m ill either side of a weekend and how that looks.

Any views appreciated.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes. Iโ€™m not great tapping into my phone.

If you are sick, you are sick. Youโ€™d be mad to struggle back on Monday when you probably only have a few more days before you break up and risk being ill over the Christmas break when it is so important to have a decent rest and break to set you up for the new term. So in your shoes (and Iโ€™m not a teacher but a parent of a child in crucial exam years) Iโ€™d definitely say you need Monday off.

oh and get well soon โค๏ธ

If you're sick, you're sick. Unless you have a habit of faking it on weekends, it's fine.

Thank you, thatโ€™s really kind. I donโ€™t usually get sick, but I just canโ€™t shake this one.

No, I promise this would be a first.
