Pregnancy weight gain - help

Please, no horrible comments, just looking for advice and support. Background, I have always struggled with disordered eating, had bulimia in my 20s. Long since recovered from that but still struggle day to day and have always hovered either on the high side of a normal BMI or just on the overweight side. I eat healthily but have major issues with emotional eating and large portion sizes. I had several quite traumatic things happen to me last year and consequently put on a stone, tipping me into a BMI of nearly 29. I've just found out I'm pregnant. I'm nearly 2 stone heavier than I was when I was pregnant the first time and I'm terrified of ballooning during pregnancy. I spoke to my midwife but she really wasn't helpful, just told me to stay away from sugar, which I already do - I don't have a sweet tooth and I cook everything from scratch, generally stay away from UPF, but I massively overeat.

Has anyone started pregnancy being quite overweight and managed to contain it? Obviously I can't "diet" during pregnancy but I would really like to keep a lid on it and not gain too much more?

I have life long weight problems. I got pregnant at 85kg 🙈

First trimester I actually lost some weight as although all I was eating was ham on heavily buttered toast and oranges and wine gums I felt ill / nauseous most of the time.
I gained in 2nd and 3rd... And gained about 14-16kg total.

When i gave birth I lost 8kg. Baby was 3.5k rest was placenta, blood fluid etc.
So I had really gained about 6-8kg net which I lost without too much hassle during mat leave.
I was back to pre preg weight when I went back to work then decided I was going to get fit but got pregnant again instead 😅
I am supppppper pregnant now and back to 100kg 😖😖😖

I would try and eat nutritiously but honestly don't get too hung up on it. You have a year off work to lose any excess weight.

My first maternity leave all I did was eat tbh. I found it a lot easier losing weight once I went back to work. I lost no weight breastfeeding either though I was assured I would! I think my metabolism is really shonky thanks to years of yoyo dieting. And I'm really short (just over 5ft) so I don't have much leeway with calories.
