Jarvis Cocker’s autobiography, Good Pop, Bad Pop, is really good. Not funny, but whimsical and self-mocking.

Adam Kay’s This Is Going To Hurt made me laugh and cry a lot.

Kenneth Williams wrote some scandalous memoirs, but I recommend listening to those - narrated by himself.

Gerald Durrell’s books are rather lovely. Better than the TV series.

Billy by Pamela Anderson.

Slidingsocks · 13/12/2023 08:52

Rupert Everett's autobiography is excellent.

MrsSkylerWhite · 13/12/2023 08:54

Peter Ustinov and Alan Coren. Number 1 is William Shatner. Belly laughs all the way through.

Kaamos · 13/12/2023 08:56

Billy Connolly's books. I'm really looking forward to his newest one 'Rambling Man: My Life On The Road'.

MorrisZapp · 13/12/2023 09:05

Haven't read it yet but Adrian Edmondson has just written his and it sounds brilliant, he was on the radio the other day. He had a truly horrible childhood so it's not all laughs but the sample anecdote about a crap dinner at Mick Jaggers' house was bloody hilarious.

I've asked for Johannes's biography for Christmas. Should be a good read

Needhelp101 · 13/12/2023 09:13

The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, Bill Bryson. Genuinely had to stop reading it on public transport as kept collapsing in hysterical laughter 😁

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/12/2023 09:15

David Niven - The Moon's a Balloon and Bring On The Empty Horses. Also second the Bill Bryson.

You can’t beat Elton John for brilliant stories - I think it was Me, Me, Me that had me laughing on the first page

Billy by Pamela Anderson.

I don't think she wrote that one but it would have been an interesting read if she did

erinaceus · 15/12/2023 07:42

Bossypants (Tina Fey) - I think I listened to the audiobook which is her reading it.

This Is Not A Pity Memoir by Abi Morgan
I found it such a brave and comforting read. By the writer who wrote the TV drama, The Split
