What happened to loose leaf tea, tea strainers and Pots?

You can't seem to buy loose leaf tea anymore . It's all TBags.

Does anyone still use it? Was it any better than tea bags?

I use loose leaf but smaller supermarkets and cheaper supermarkets don't stock much, if any

Asda isn’t great but all other supermarkets have a good range of loose leaf.

Well thanks for the Asda info; it is an Asda problem. Try Sainsburys.

The thing to remember with green tea is not to use boiling water as that makes it bitter. Approx 80-90C is ideal. If you don't have a kettle that does different temperatures, you can work it out by the speed of the bubbles. Instructions here - https://solarisbotanicals.com/pages/preparing-the-perfect-cup-of-tea

I can't be arsed with loose leaf tea tbh. Nothing wrong with a tetley onecup Smile

tea pot

I've got one of these for when it's just me. And we use a little sieve strainer for the big pot. We go through phases when we make real tea - usually the M&S gold leaf tea.

Just bought some green tea as it's supposed to help with blood pressure...

Tea leaves are much nice.

I haven't used any of the copies, but the original ForLife Stump teapot is a classic. I use that or a bigger ForLife Curve one, best teapots I have ever bought, they pour so beautifully.

You can buy Yorkshire tea as a bag of loose tea leaves in all supermarkets. I also have Darjeeling loose leaves from Waitrose. Bird blend loose herbal teas are lovely I’d recommend their ‘moon drops’ and ‘apple strudel’ Most Chinese supermarkets will also sell loose green tea leaves including jasmine, Pu erh and chrysanthemum. Loose tea leaves definitely taste better than tea bags which also contain micro plastics. Most charity shops will have tea pots for a few pounds I have separate ones for black teas, green teas and herbal teas and I have recently bought a tea strainer from John Lewis. All used tea leaves go straight into the garden under the rose bushes which are thriving as a result
