Any ideas please?
Tried quite a few in the budget range but willing to try something pricier now.

Has he tried CeraVe?
Reasonably priced and doesn’t irritate my skin.

La Roche Posay baby range.

I like Lush Celestial as a moisturizer for very sensitive skins. I’m not sure how suitable it is for teenagers because of its oil content. If you have a shop nearby they may give you a sample.

I second CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. It’s similar, but I think better than, Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser. If you use it with a clean face cloth( clean daily) you get a mild microfoliant effect!

La Roche Posay or Avene

Aveeno do skincare now too

Cereve makes my skin feel burning. I got a big bottle of cetaphil from boots they do wash and mosituriser

Both me and my son have sensitive skin. We use no7 foaming cleanser and protect and perfect intense advanced day cream.

I would see a dermatologist. Very sensitive skin can often be confused with an allergic reaction to a common ingredient in most face washes. In the interim, I would stop with all face washes and moisturisers and just use running warm water. If his face is dirty, a warm wash cloth that is used once to gently remove dirt and exfoliate. He’s a teenager, his natural oil production should be enough to not need moisturiser.

La Roche Posay baby range.

I came here to say the same, really recommend this

My son has facial eczema and I buy Dermol cream for him in a big pump (as recommended by his dermatologist. It is a great moisturiser and can also be used as a soap substitute.

Cerave, cetaphil or la Roche posay are all great for sensitive skin

There is a company called Pure Nuff Stuff which I saw recommended on here years ago and it’s absolutely amazing for sensitive skill

It’s all hand made and natural, and they do ranges for various skin issues but it’s honestly brilliant

My skin is temperamental and I use Dermalogica Special cleansing gel

It's very concentrated so you only need a tiny bit and it last forever so it's well worth it

I get my DD Dermalogica clear start because it's also concentrated so last forever so is also cost effective and much better than Cerave SA which is very watered down imho

Because my DS now shaves he finds all face wash sting him so just uses water

Daftapath · 08/12/2023 22:37

Dd has very sensitive skin and uses Lucy Bee face wash and moisturiser. She has had no problems with them unlike burning and redness with others.

MoiraRoseVibes · 08/12/2023 22:38

Another vote for Cerave. DH uses it. I use REN stuff - it’s super gentle too.

I have also been prescribed this by my dermatologist.
It's excellent as a soap substitute.

Weleda cleansing milk.

WinterParakeets · 08/12/2023 22:47

I came on to say Dermol too but see that other Pps have already recommended it. My son has extremely sensitive skin and it's the only thing he can wash with. I use it too sometimes if my skin is dry or sore. It's very soothing.

ehb102 · 08/12/2023 22:55

Sebamed. I get litre bottles from eBay. It's 5.5pH and very good.for.really sensitive skin. Got a dermatology recommendation 30+ years ago and I have no idea why it isn't more.popular. probably lack of.madketing, it's green and has functional branding.

idontlikealdi · 08/12/2023 23:26

Cerave

Thecatspjymas · 08/12/2023 23:57

Simple is very gentle on the skin

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 09/12/2023 00:14

I use cetaphil recommended by a dermatologist.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/12/2023 00:16

Warm water and a wash cloth, that's all that's needed, unless he's removing make up.
