I tried searching Detonie, Detonie botanic and Detonie place. Just about to try adding 17th & 18th C. to my terms.

Could it be a bad spelling of Betony.

I know years ago correct spelling wasn’t a thing. People just spelled things as they thought. Maybe that was common when few people could read. Then add in dialects and accents, and it guess anything could be spelled badly.

Or perhaps Detonie could be the Latin base for whatever it is. Or look up herbs, good for the eyes, and see what comes up.

Betony would be my guess.
