This is interesting because it sounds like a problem that is quite circumstantial. You are busy, exhausted and eat convenience food. CF is designed to make you crave more and more of it. They have scientists researching the perfect hit of sugar, fat, salt, crispiness, chewyness etc to make you come back again and again.
You need to break the cycle with some very simple meal planning.
Try traybakes and batch cooking.
Traybakes can take 10 mins or less to prep and 25-30 mins to cook.
E.g. Chicken pieces tossed in a tablespoon of herbs or mild spices mixed to a thickish paste with water rather than oil if you are wanting weight loss. Add a bag of baby potatoes and some chunky veg - if you are short of time, frozen mediterranean veg - thick sliced peppers and courgettes are fine. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven until the chicken is golden brown and crisp and the veg cooked through.
Once a week do this with herbs and peppers etc, mediterranean style. Another time, do it with sweet potato wedges and jerk seasoning. Another time, add some chopped leeks, chestnut mushrooms, chunks of butternut squash and a throw a glass of wine or cider over the lot to make a more bubbly casserole type thing. All very healthy but easy to do, especially if you buy prepped veg.
Batch cooking: If you like MacDonald's then you must like minced beef. Make a massive batch of tomato base: onions, carrots, celery, garlic, all finely minced, tinned chopped tomatoes, diced mixed peppers and courgettes. Divide it into 3 or 4 depending on how much you made (at least one tin of toms per family-sized portion) Brown off some mince. Then add it to 2 of the portions. To one you add herbs - and that's a spag bol base, to another you add chilli/chipotle and kidney beans - that's a chilli to have with rice or fahitas, a third portion is left as plain tomato to be a healthy veg pasta sauce.
It'll take an hour, but then you'll have three week night meals ready to take out of the freezer in the morning and warm up at night in the time it takes to cook rice or pasta. If you use rice pouches or fresh pasta - that's 5 mins!
Other people might be able to help with slow cooker recipes but I find these need a fair bit of prep in the morning - not ideal with small children to organise.
