Particularly with a gun, what kind of earring do you wear in it and can you recommend me something?

Is it fully healed? Mine took an absolute age to heal....over a year and I had it pierced with a needle. I like wearing hoops in mine rather than studs, Etsy is often a good place to look.

I had mine done with a gun but that's about 20 years ago now - I'm not sure they're recommended for use at all now, even lobes. In answer to your question, I use the same jewellery as my tragus piercing with the flat back. I got mine from Amazon.

Oh yes, sorry, forgot to mention I had it done over 20 years ago! I know now that guns should never be used to pierce a helix.
I’ve never had a problem with mine but rarely wear anything in it because I can’t find a decent earring that works.

Butterfly backs are a nightmare up there, and helix earrings seem to be too thick seeing as I didn’t have it done with a needle (if any of that makes sense)

I wear a hoop. 7mm clicker from Laura Bond.

On Etsy I've seen flat back earrings in different thicknesses designed for different piercings. You might need to write quite specific search criteria and see what comes up.

A tragus bar might work here

I was grimacing at the gun, but understood, 20+ years ago it was more of the norm. Whatever you put in there, titanium or implant grade surgical steel are the metals to use. Less likely to irrtate than silver, gold etc. Try Piercing Mania or Blue Banana for those metals and labret jewellery that will come in different stem thicknesses. 1.2mm is normal for a needle, yours sounds like it's smaller.

Or go to a good piercer, the kind you'll find in a reputable tattoo shop and they will measure and change your jewellery in house. I'd do that to make sure you get the right thing.

I'm currently nursing a freshly pierced double helix đź«°

Go to a piercer. They will have appropriate jewellery. It needs to be a labret type or a hoop, really.
