Compact air fryer

I am looking at getting a compact air fryer for my elderly DM. She only cooks for herself, so she thinks this will be more economical than using her oven.

I have no experience of air fryers so would like some recommendations. She does struggle a bit with technology so one with easy to use controls, preferably a dial rather a digital screen, would be preferred. Also not too big as only cooking for one and doesn't have a very big kitchen. She only really cooks basic meals now or heats things up in the oven, would an air fryer be worth getting? Will be an Xmas present, so no outlay for her, budget around £100

It depends on what she cooks, if it's likely to be something in a dish or a ready meal the drawer needs to be large enough to accommodate it with space around it to lift out when hot. The type with shelves may be easier and more familiar to her

This one brilliant-I use a lot-DM is in her 80's and DC in 20's all have the same one and everyone loves it.

Recommended to my friend and she and her Uni age son also use/love

Very easy to use too

Yes I have that one, it's very easy to use and is a nice build quality. You do need to find a way how to remove hot containers out if you use them for shepherd's pies etc, same as any drawer version, because you can't tip it!

This is what I would buy if I didn't already have a Cosori and a Ninja

I've got an Innoteck 4L. Non-digital, easy to use - has two knob dials, one for temperature and one for the timer. The basket can go in the dishwasher, and you can buy silicone lining baskets to go inside it. Available from the company or from Amazon

not sure if they do a compact air fryer but absolutely love my ninja. So much so my husband got all pleased with himself when I said I love you the other day in the kitchen. Didn't have the heart to say I was talking to my air fryer :-)

Like your Mother, I live alone and find my Air Fryer very useful. It's easy to use, and cooks things quickly, I use it most days.

The only problem I have with mine is when cooking foods like lasagna, when the hot dish has to be manoeuvred out of the drawer.
But this would be less of a problem if I had work surface space in front of the AF so that I could pull the drawer fully out. Unfortunately that is not possible in my small kitchen.
So do make sure that there is plenty of working space around the AF to make serving out easy and safe for your Mum.

Ada yes exactly my dilemma, it's not particularly the workspace that's the problem. I'm naturally clumsy and getting worse with age. The sling method using tinfoil looks straightforward when I see others use it, but I don't trust it myself
