56 and went through menopause prob 2 years a go - well havent had a period or bleeding for at least 2 years Im sure. End of November I had very sore breasts and nipples tender and they felt huge. Plus a clear wet discharge just like when I knew I was ovulating. Very weird. Then a few days later had some real stomach cramps - I have suffered from endometriosis but this seemed to have settled since meno etc. I did have annual scans on a cyst as well but Ive not had one for at least 2-3 years.

Anyway this morning I wiped myself after the loo and blood. I have a bit of pain in my lower back and abit of grumling stomach pain nothing too horrific. This is probably come about 8 days after initial pa

This has freaked me out. Any advice? GP call and appointment IF I can get one!!!!!

I’m in the same position @galaxybeyond my biopsy results were clear but apparently they found multiple fibroids and my womb lining had thickened from 1.2 to 4.5 in a year, no explanation for the bleeding, no follow up or monitoring suggested just sent back to GP, I spoke to my GP who said they didn’t have a clue either and suggested I write to the consultant with my queries which I did but it’s been over a month now and have heard nothing back, it’s very frustrating.

@galaxybeyond I went for my pre op for the hysteroscopy and my ECG was abnormal and blood pressure high, so I've now been referred to cardiology before the anaesthetist will proceed. To be honest it's been very stressful. I managed to see a GP who was quite relaxed about my ECG but will find out more on Friday when I see a cardiologist. I'm relatively calm about the gynae side of things as the ultrasound was reassuring (the hysteroscopy / biopsy is to be 100% sure no problems lurking). But the cardiac thing has thrown me...I go anywhere near a hospital and my blood pressure goes through the roof ("white coat syndrome") but I know a full review is a good idea.

@galaxybeyond i don’t have any advice re your situation other than when you’re going through IVF, 7mm is considered a very thin womb lining for a transfer. In fact, my consultant told me that for some women, it’s the minimum lining they can have.

galaxybeyond · 27/01/2024 21:46

@mumsnoangel Oh Im.sorry to hear this. Isnt it strange how our body reacts.

What I also find strange is, I had my hysteroscophy/biopsey there and then after my scan and consultant appointment ... with a local anaesthetic. It was uncomfortable I cant lie, but literally 20 mins there were 3 nurses and the consultant in.the room and they were brilliant, I went home an hour later when I felt ok. I wonder why they dont do yours that way? Im sure you will get answers on Friday, keep us informed.

Consultant initially said lining should be in the region of 3-4 and mibe was 7.3 so a little too thick for age and someone 2 years post menopause

@galaxybeyond It's at a private hospital as my husband's job has private health cover for me as well as him. They do all hysteroscopies there under general anaesthetic. Talk about a two tier system - it's all wrong really. Glad you didn't suffer too badly but I have heard horror stories of people having very painful hysteroscopies. I think I probably would cope if they decide a general anaesthetic is a problem for me.

galaxybeyond · 27/01/2024 22:34

Ah I see. Yes I think it depends on your pain threshold too...but although a little painful I didnt think it was bad enough to be put under. Hopefully they will get it all sorted very soon.

My post menopausal bleeding investigation revealed a thickened womb lining and an ovarian cyst. They said they weren’t sure what it was so I was given a full hysterectomy and removal of omentum. I think they must have suspected cancer but weren’t certain. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, a rare cancer called Granulosa cell tumour. If your bleeding continues @galaxybeyond do pester them for further tests.

@mumsnoangel hows things with you?

@galaxybeyond thanks so much for checking in on me. I've had a raft of cardio tests which were quite reassuring in that my heart is in good shape, but poorly controlled high blood pressure, so have had my medication changed. Nothing to now prevent the hysteroscopy. That's not urgent so booked for 5 April. Feel reasonably confident all is well, but grateful for the opportunity to be fully checked out. How are things with you?

galaxybeyond · 01/03/2024 19:59

Ah that's so good to hear @mumsnoangel BP will get itself in order with a change of meds Im sure.
Yes Im been totally fine, no more bleeding but I have noticed a few hot flushes creeping back during the nights. So guessing a few freaky hormone changes.
Im going to try and loose some weight, I noticed before when flushes had stopped I was nice and trim, Ive piled on a good 2 stones, so will see. X

@galaxybeyond happy to report that I finally had my hysteroscopy yesterday and all looked ok. Need. To wait for the biopsy results but the gynaecologist seemed pleased all seemed fine. Hope you are ok now?

galaxybeyond · 06/04/2024 08:47

@mumsnoangel that'a so good to hear. Ive often wonder how youvl are but didnt want to hassle you. Positive signs if consultant thought all looks ok. Ive been absolutely fine no more episodes!

What lovely uplifting news OP... I hope all goes well when you get your feedback from the biopsy.

mumsnoangel · 20/04/2024 17:13

@galaxybeyond I had my final consultation and the biopsy and smear were both clear, so I'm very relieved and I've had no further bleeds. Wishing everyone else the same good news who've had a similar post menopause bleed.
