This is very out of character for me, I'm usually very sensible! I know I've been very silly, please don't judge.
Over the summer I fell out of the habit of taking my SSRI medication for anxiety. I've been on it for nearly 4 years and my mental health has been very stable for that time. The only noticeable effects of winding down the medication were positive ones (return of sex drive etc). So, for the last few months, I've taken a tablet every three days instead of daily.
Now, obviously what I should have done is request a lower dose. But instead I kept ordering the full dose, mainly because I wanted to keep the control of being able to take the full dose again immediately should things deteriorate.
My 12 month prepayment certificate has just expired and I've got about 14 weeks worth of meds left to take. Next time I order, it will be review time. To save money I want to carry on what I'm doing until I run down my supply of higher dose tablets. But the GP will know I haven't ordered for a long time, so I will eventually have to fess up. I feel like a naughty child asking this, but will I be in trouble?? Will they just refuse to prescribe me any more medication? I'm a bit worried about it!
