Vinted seller advice - complete newbie

Hi
I am completely new to Vinted and online selling generally and looking for some general advice please. I have listed a few high street clothing items for what I thought were fair prices. I have had a few offers below the asking price.

So my question is, is it common for buyers to offer below the listed price and would most sellers accept a certain percentage below or hold out for the asking price for newly listed items? Just trying to find out what the done thing is generally as appreciate there will be exceptions.

TIA

I think many buyers offer less than the asking price. It’s up to you if you choose to accept the offer. I sometimes counter offer mid way between the prices

As you're new, I'd start by offering some good value well priced items at a good price so that your rating goes up.

Then you can decide. Lots of people price higher and accept a discount, I don't. I price well and ignore the offers - but I have a 4.9 rating, so don't need to.

Also, there are times when you do accept their offer, but they don’t proceed with buying the item. Sell for what you are happy with

I always price items for a bit more than I want for them so I can accept an offer. For example £18 and I’ll accept £15

That’s really helpful thank you.

I always allow a bit extra for offers. It's the norm on vinted. I really wish they'd scrap the offers and you just list it for the price you wanted, would save everyone's time!

Thank you.

How long would you usually allow for a buyer to accept the postage costs/size after making an offer if later another buyer offers on the same item? Wondering how often buyers offer but then change their minds and don’t proceed with the sale? Sorry for all the questions!

If I get two offers for the same item I accept both and whoever pays first gets it :)
Good luck selling, I've made about £500 in the last two months. I needed to get out of the sunk cost mindset too - yes something might have cost say £50 new, but if it is sitting in your wardrobe and you are never going to wear it, you might as well sell it for £10 and clear the space rather than holding on for £25 or whatever.

Thanks again for the tips, I have sold my first items and used an inpost locker for the very first time today! (Yes I am very behind with the times!)
