Aches and pains- is this normal

My joints seem to be giving up on me. Is this normal and what can I do?

context: 43 and bmi 30 and I know in need to loose weight but I binge eat and it's just not a quick fix so what else can I do. Since April I swim 1km breast stroke 3-5 times a week (40 lengths of a 25m pool). I go to chiropractor once per month

My neck is occasionally a problem but no more than anyone else's from lying funny.

My arms tingle and I pulled a tricep muscle 6 weeks ago. My elbows are routinely sore like tennis elbow. My shoulder aches from the arm injury.

My lower back rhs I injured 5 years ago and I now have chronic low back pain which I manage with amitryptyline and occasional codiene

My knees creak and I had chrondomalica patella as a teen

Infrequently My left hip clicks and feel like it is out of socket

My feet- my left has PF which resolved them came back a few weeks ago. No idea why.

My right has an arthritis in the big toe and a dorsal bunion (on top) and now there is is a side swelling too.

Apart from losing weight (I was taking saxenda till they stopped it) what can I do?

GP/ nhs physio/ supplements/ etc

Could it be something more serious like fibromyalgia or is it just years of mild obesity. I'm a teacher so active and walk the dog and go out and stuff so by no means lazy! Although I do love to laze about too!

Hey there, sorry that you are feeling like this. I have fallen down a bit of keto rabbit hole on YouTube, and there seems to be a lot of evidence that our current diet is to blame for a lot of modern illness. And by currrent diets, I mean not just processed food but the over consumption of carbohydrates. Our current perception of you just get creaky as you get older is a modern one. People used to be healthy and work, till they dropped dead. Now we accept that our health and mobility decline as we age. And of course that must be the case, but not to the extent that we seem to see as normal now!

For a relatable inspiration on keto for weight loss take a look here https://www.youtube.com/@KetogenicWoman

As you’re heading towards peri I’d start on bit D3 and K2, B complex, and a good quality omega 3.
Tingling arms I’d question low ferritin.
Eat protein to curve the hunger.
And never wear flat shoes for the PF, no flip flops and never go barefoot, so slippers in the house.

Oh wow @DustyLee123 this is so helpful.

I had a course ferrous sulphate and Colecalcifceorol for anaemia and vit d borderline in April as felt the same so I'll start taking that.

I'll boils up some eggs to eat rather than a mince pie!

I'll get some recovery slide from hoka I have some but they are really too small and I don't wear them.
