Help me fill the advent calendar

A little while ago I had the bright idea to buy for my two DD a reusable advent calendar that you can fill yourself. I usually fill it with a mixture of chocs, sweets and little gifts (just one in each drawer). For the gifts I buy something small like a Christmas hairslide or one of those mini bathbombs (the tiny ones you can buy in bags of 5 for £1). I’m now running out of ideas. I don’t like to spend more than £3/4 for it and it needs to be small enough to fit in a drawer that’s about 7cm x 6cm. Can anyone give me any ideas?

Fidget cube
Small tub of slime
Bouncy ball
Lip balm
Lego mini figure

I picked up some maoams and filled ours with them. The 24th is a toy.

I remember thinking that this was a good idea then it cost me an absolute finding small but interesting things to put in it .
Not sure the kids were that bothered either. It was back to supermarket chocolate ones after that !

I've just filled mine with small foil-wrapped chocolate. Kids are very happy.

Honestly I wish I’d never started it! I like the idea of Lego mini figures. DD are 7 and 10 and already have loads of lip balm and rubbers. I’ve got them some post it notes and hair ties so far this year, I just need a couple more as most of the boxes are a sweet or chocolate

A bit late for this year but you could buy a lego kit and split it up so they get one or two parts a day.

You can also get craft kits eg to make a charm bracelet, split it so they get the bracelet on the 1st and then charms each day.

A pack of different stamps with smiley faces or flowers or dinosaurs.

I got everything from tiger - a mix of chocolate coins, foam Christmas stickers, and shrinkies (those plastic things you sprinkles in the oven to make little decorations). I spent £11 (had to get enough for 2 DC).

Girasoli · 01/12/2023 09:06

(you shrink not sprinkle)

I have done lego kits and jigsaw puzzles split over the pockets (don’t get instructions or the picture until the 24th)

My DM did one for my DS one year and sometimes the 'gifts' were promise of a treat .. ie: a special breakfast, hot chocolate, film night, visit to a Carol service or similar ... you could vary it depending on budget and include things you would do anyway.

Sarasara1983 · 01/12/2023 09:11

One year we put a little packet of pez in each door (bought a big pack and opened it up)
then on 24th they got the pez dispenser.

PoptartPoptart · 01/12/2023 09:12

A couple of pieces of a jigsaw puzzle every day that they have to piece together. A Christmas themed puzzle would be ideal!
You may also have to throw in a sweet or two as-well to keep them happy😀

Sarasara1983 · 01/12/2023 09:13

But I’m actually going out to find something today I’ll let you what I get - two teens and a toddler 😂

pizzaHeart · 01/12/2023 09:17

Haribo.

AnneNotEmily · 01/12/2023 11:15

thanks everyone for your ideas. I especially love the charm bracelet idea @sashh

Ive also been having a think and I’m going to buy some Christmas cookie cutters for one (or two) of the doors if anyone else is looking for ideas
