Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The window's open, but the usual birds are very quiet this morning. I didn't sleep very well -kept waking every few hours- and now feel slightly like I have a hangover 🙄

I'm off to The Range, this morning, with dd1. Dd2 said she didn't want to come but I'll check as I go to get dressed in case she's changed her mind.

I'm just about to put another coat of primer on a baseball cap to become a duck, and then varnish the top of something for school, before I think about getting dd1 up.

I want a few more of the decorations I picked up the other week, and maybe the tree I was eyeing up too! Also want to look for a nice dressing table mirror for dd2's birthday, to stand on the dressing table she's having for Christmas. Her birthday's 28th Dec so she won't have to wait long for it, and does have a mirror to use for the couple of in-between days.

There's nothing to be done really around the house, when we get back. Just a few odd things, and some washing, to put away.

Left over Chinese for tea - the girls' choice of treat after yesterday's big clean, so no cooking to do either <winning>!

This evening I'll either mark out my next peg dolls, or continue a small cross stitch Christmas card for my dad, before an early night. Both girls have homework so will remind them to crack on with that too.

Navy Son DS2 is on his way from his ship, he and his wife will be here this afternoon for a week.
Christmas Dinner and parcels on Tuesday night as he's back on ship in December and won't be home again till May.
Cannot wait to see them both, I don't usually "do" Christmas till mid December but this year is different, house is all decorated and all presents bought and wrapped.

Alternating between reading and MNing. Have the window open and lovely crisp air is blowing in and I'm all cosy and warm its lovely, and indeed Sunday's are self-care Sunday so this will be today's self care!

Need to jump in the shower in a bit to liven myself up then we all need to get in the garden to get it shut down for winter, put all the summer toys into the outhouse and I've also got some spring bulbs to plant. They are indoor ones but I'll prep them outside the they can spend the winter in tbe porch and hopefully bloom in the spring!

Need to pick up teen DC from a sleepover at some point.

Later on we are all heading to my parents for a roast looking forward to that!

Then home for kids bedtime and packing school bags etc for the week

I'm still in bed all toasty. Had my cup of tea and a hot cross bun for a change, i found it frozen in the freezer, it was lovely. Am slightly getting fed up of toast whish ive had for over 50 years every morning .

Dh and i have now got a good few days off work so will have some days out here and there. We just go wherever its dry.

Morning all! Lazy day for us too. Toddler DD treated us to a lie in this morning and didn't wake up until 7, then we made pancakes together for breakfast - she had the best time cracking eggs into the flour and stirring it all together 😆. She's now downstairs watching TV with DH while I do some housework. Making lasagna for dinner later, so I'm looking forward to that.

A cold grey day here. This morning I'm planning to do a bit of house tidying plus I might poke my nose outside and do some garden tidying as well. Later I'm planning to work on a quilting project. DH will cook dinner.

Morning all! I’ve got friends coming for a visit so we’re going for a wander round the Christmas market and lunch.

I am doing laundry and general tidying this morning.
Annoyingly, the loo is partially blocked, so that needs attention. It's not the first time and DH will smugly point out that it never happened with the ancient one that we replaced.
He is resiting the compost bin and has taken a load down to the land.
I am limping round, as I stubbed my toe badly yesterday on a low brick border and it is swollen and blue. It's a wonderful excuse to sit down with the Snooker this afternoon.
I might order in a takeaway this evening, as I fancy some Indian food.

I am another one having a lazy morning this morning. Have tidied the kitchen and the dishwasher is on. Had toast for breakfast and am on my fourth cup of tea.

Need to have a shower and put some laundry away. Then I am going to a Christmas wreath making afternoon with mulled wine and mince pies. Will hopefully end up with a wreath good enough to actually hang on the door!

Steak and pepper sauce for dinner. And wine. And then cheese and biscuits.

Feel crap about life in general today. Was supposed to going for a meal with dh and the kids but I literally can't bare to be near him today so I've cancelled it and will do a roast instead and probably catch up on ironing.

Don't really know where this morning has gone. I've been up, showered, and dressed since 9:30, but only just had breakfast.
F1 at 1 and maybe a walk after that. No real plans.

Morning! Busyish day, parents arriving soon to watch the F1, then out for a dog walk then out for dinner tonight to celebrate family birthdays.

Good morning-ish!
So far I have had porridge for breakfast after waking up at 4.20, again, prepared dinner which is now in the oven, stabbed my finger with a pair of scissors and given up on trying to find 4 nights accommodation , self catering, for 2 adults and a well-behaved dog in a specific town in the Brecon area. It’s proving impossible 😡🤷🏼‍♀️
DH has taken dog out, it’s horribly cold and drizzly so I’ve lit the log burner.
Sod all happening otherwise!

Good nearly lunchtime!
All my plans have come to naught today, as DD’s Sunday club was cancelled due to staff illness. I feel really bad for her as she was off school most of last week with a bad leg and was so excited about getting out and doing something. DP took her to the park instead, so at least she’s burned off a bit of energy.

Lunch is bubbling away in the pressure cooker and the first of many loads of washing is on.

Need to nip out for a few foodie bits and bobs later, but that’s probably the extent of today’s excitement!

After a heatwave for 9 days, it’s cooler and raining today, hooray!
Going to get some decluttering done inside, and generally just potter.
