Music player - special needs

I want to buy a music player for a relative with learning disabilities. Previously we’ve used CDs but obviously that’s old school now.

I don’t want something that will have added expense, if possible, eg one of the Alexa type devices I imagine will require subsequent purchases of tracks? And I know the kids’ Yoto / Tonie options also require add ons.

Personally I use Spotify on my phone, but they don’t have a phone. Any thoughts on what I should buy?

You can use Spotify or Amazon music on an Alexa. It is a monthly payment for ad-free listening but you can use the free plans.
Then you’d say ‘play xyz on Spotify’ or whatever.

Thanks. I’m not sure my relative would be able to choose and say what they want clearly. Something with buttons / pressing etc is probably better, thinking about it.

My brother has LDs. I bought him a CD player that looks like an old school juke box.

I'd personally get a Yoto. It's got its own radio station plus you can buy cards but equally buy blanks and make your own.
