Single parent, very very rarely go out. The last time I had a proper "night out" was my friends wedding in January.

Works Xmas party tonight. My parents will have the dc. I have transport arranged (live in the middle of nowhere) I have a full outfit sorted rhat I'm happy with.

I just can't be arsed. I can't be bothered to get ready (paint nails , shave legs, could do with colouring my hair etc). I won't have regrets about not going. I will almost certainly have a good night. Argh.

I'd still say you should shave your legs and paint your toenails - it's important to look after yourself.
Legs maybe in summer. Toenails, meh. Who cares.

Try and go

It's nice to make and effort and dress up if you can

I don't like going out much at night nowadays but when I was younger and had small dc it was vital

I'm the same. I hardly go anywhere. I'm up for it when I make the arrangement but when the day arrives, I just want to sit on my couch and veg.
Try sticking some music on while you get ready to get you in the mood.

@LadyBird1973 I agree really, and if I took more care on a regular basis it wouldn't be such a monumental task today.

I'm clean, shaven, hair coloured and toenails painted. I might actually make it out.
