Your ability to use irony must be lacking then as that wasn't the least bit clear from your post.

Lol.

Risk assessment (stringent H&S checks, if you must) is an eminently sensible way to go about life. We do it for so many things already

I don't think the risks of long covid or the burden on society from it (which is already beginning to make itself noticed in the benefits budget and the numbers leaving the workforce) are well known, let alone taken in to consideration.

If you are fairly well off, and/or can work from home, then ignoring it all would I suppose make sense from your pov. But that makes it difficult for those who are more vulnerable, cannot WFH, cannot afford repeated sick absences, and yes masking away from home is a sensible step.

Even The Sun is beginning to cotton on to this, and has run a piece about the immune damage that is a consequence of covid. I'm really not up for having repeated infections, because right now we don't know if the damage is fully reversible (and if you're getting covid several times a year, you may never regain full function).

I have only ever personally known one person to have pneumonia until very recently - then three in the space of a week this month. Two are children, one is my best friend. The children both had to be admitted - one for over a week. My friend was in and out in one day with some strong antibiotics.

Major increases of this kind of pneumonia in children in Finland and the Netherlands too (and reports now from across the globe)

As the Netherlands was one of the countries that barely locked down - indeed the official policy in 2020 was controlled spread.

China btw has told the WHO it is not a new form of pneumonia, but instead one that has become more prevalent due to covid lowering immunity to common viruses.

Mycoplasma is a bacterial infection, so antibiotics should work well. Frankly, the lack of immunity now is down to Covid lockdowns. My view is it is best to have Chicken Pox style parties to get the kids immunity back up.
Lockdown was a policy solely designed to protect the selfish interests of the Baby Boomers, and has harmed millions of kids.
