Worried about my husband...

H went out for a work lunch with clients today. He's not home, and I was expecting him at least a couple of hours ago. His phone just rings out, and he's not replied to my texts.

This is totally out of character for him.

What can I do? And when?

I don't know who he was meeting for lunch, or where.

Just keep imagining the worst...

I mean, I know he was in central London, but no info apart from that.

Phone trace?

Zoraflora · 22/11/2023 19:21

He may have lost his phone and is unable to contact you. What time did you expect him back?

FrenchandSaunders · 22/11/2023 19:24

It’s gone on longer and more drinks involved. Prob fine.

Sawaranga · 22/11/2023 19:24

Can you call his work/contact any colleagues? When was he due home?

Lavender14 · 22/11/2023 19:28

If it was a work meeting I'd also be inclined to try and get in touch with his office to see if they can check if he left or is still with his colleagues. As others have suggested it's probably been a case of a broken lost or dead phone and a meeting that has turned into 'hosting' clients around the city? Or perhaps they ran into a problem with their clients and have been rushing to remedy it. Do you have any way to contact his work or team? I'm sorry op, that's a horrible feeling to have. I hope he's home soon.

Sidebeforeself · 22/11/2023 19:29

Hes lost his phone. Battery flat.

Lavender14 · 22/11/2023 19:30

Also just to say, do you have any additional concerns about your dh that would make him extra vulnerable? Like poor mental health etc? If you were worried and anything like that was a factor you could contact police you don't need to wait. But contacting his work would be first point of call.

Comedycook · 22/11/2023 19:32

This wouldn't particularly worry me....I'd assume he has drunk too much and lost track of time, or his battery has died on his phone and he's missed his train...unless, as a pp said, you have any other concerns or he's vulnerable in some way?

purplehue · 22/11/2023 19:33

Possibly in a pub without a signal. Meeting went well and has carried on longer.

purplehue · 22/11/2023 19:34

Do you know anyone who was with him? I wouldn't worry too much at this time. I know that's easy for me to say though.

hellsBells246 · 22/11/2023 19:34

Typical!! As soon as I post he gets in touch. All ok. Meeting just went in longer than expected.

(But he doesn't have an office, and I don't know his clients, so maybe I need to think about how to contact him in similar situations in future.)

That's great op so pleased to hear that! You never think of these things until you have reason to though! It's made me think the same about how I'd reach dh.

coldcallerbaiter · 22/11/2023 19:37

He has a driving license on him? If he was injured, someone would be in touch, like the police.

hellsBells246 · 22/11/2023 19:39

He doesn't carry his driving licence. Just credit cards and so on.

Am glad he's OK.
