Do these "Work Coaches" actually help disabled people get jobs?

I only ask, as I went to an appointment with my disabled friend who was terminated for absence relating to her disabilities.

The coach didn't offer her any help other than to say I know someone who got a remote job that would suit you.

She offered no help to find any job at all let alone a suitable one! No signposting nothing.

My friend has looked for remote jobs and they are practically non existent.

How is the Government going to make all these cuts when there is no support?

@JenniferBooth I'm not sure what workfare is. I wasn't even aware that job seekers allowance didn't exist anymore!

I'm just sickened by how my friend has been treated both by her workplace and also by this pretence that there are jobs for disabled people. Not forgetting that employers use slippery tactics to get rid of disabled people.

@lookingforMolly I highly doubt they will be allowed to refuse people's medications. It's probably to try and win votes from the ignorant.

I haven't heard that they are getting rid of the Equality Act. I can't see that happening. From what I have seen and heard employers get round that quite easily anyway.

They'll probably be voted out so try not to worry. I've been comforting my friend too as she is very worried.

Contributions based JSA still exists if you have sufficient NI contributions during the relevant years. Otherwise it is UC.

Well it looks like they have found a way to fill the care work vacancies caused by the vaccine mandate. I said at the time that this would happen.
