hair accessories or clothes, like branded hoody would go down well.

girlwhohasitall · 17/11/2023 15:52

For Christmas I missed the crucial point that it's for Christmas

Great idea. I was thinking of clothes but worried with her being 6 she might be disappointed as it's not something she can play with. But I will have a look online now

really?

how much time do you spend with her?

PosteriorPosterity · 17/11/2023 15:54

A day out or experience. I’m taking my niece pottery painting. I’ve previously done Eureka! and theatre tickets.

Afteropening · 17/11/2023 15:55

a branded hoody…. a 6 year old?!

Afteropening · 17/11/2023 15:56

what do you mean by she doesn’t like “experience days”

a pottery afternoon is a lovely thing to do even if not crafty

I meant to also say, I stand by this even if she doesn’t like “experience days”.

Kids like doing stuff with people they love and people who love them. And even if they don’t it’s good for them and broadens their horizons. Find something she hasn’t done before, even if it’s a new play or a new film at the cinema.

If she has all the toys, she’s not going to truly appreciate one more.

BoohooWoohoo · 17/11/2023 15:56

Could branded hoodie be a YouTuber merch hoodie ?

BoohooWoohoo · 17/11/2023 15:58

I'm surprised that she doesn't like experiences as they vary so much and don't have to be baking or crafts. What about a couple of cinema tickets so she can go watch a film with another adult (mum or dad)?

savoycabbage · 17/11/2023 16:00

I'd get her a bag and some things to put in it.

Eg backpack and pencil case
Handbag and purse
Overnight bag and pyjamas

OhGingleBells · 17/11/2023 16:00

Not sure of your budget…but what about an old fashioned doll’s house? Not a children’s toy, the proper Victorian kind of thing and then for the next few birthday/Christmas/whatever presents she could have more dolls and furniture to go inside it? Could team up with other family members.

Girls that age love dressing upso I would suggest a selection of fancy dress accessories - this website has some nice ones

If that's too much then perhaps a trawl of you local charity shop to pick up some "dress up" jewellery and present it in a nice box - perhaps a pretty cardboard suicase?

How rude

She has a disability that effects her mobility but really didn't think I had to mention that thought I could just ask for xmas ideas without letting everyone know how poorly she is. So thanks for that

Silver charm bracelet with one charm and then next few years you can add another charm

Books?

Glittery handbag / sequin t shirt

Or oo a friend’s kid has a blanket in rainbow sequins is fabulous

Love this idea she has one of the play ones but a Victorian one seems a great idea thank you

Charm bracelet is a great idea too, I think she would quite like to 'collect' lots of charms too. Thank you

A book. A beautiful pop up if you want it to be fancy. You can never have too many lovely books.

Jasmin1971 · 17/11/2023 16:04

What about a lovely glitter lamp for her room xx

Britneyfan · 17/11/2023 16:06

My niece that age with very similar likes absolutely LOVES it when I buy her a pretty Christmas dress. My mum has bought her a unicorn print dress from mini Boden this year.

I bought her glittery gold shoes one year which also went down very well! A unicorn handbag from Amazon was also a hit as was a kids make up kit (which her mum asked for as she kept using hers!). Also peel and stick nail stickers.

This year she is into Barbie Chelseas and wants the Barbie Chelsea playhouse apparently.

I know the unicorn squishmallow is a hot toy this year and sounds like she’d love it if you can find it in stock!

OhGingleBells · 17/11/2023 16:07

@girlwhohasitall My auntie bought me one when I was born but I really started playing with it properly when I was about 6 and loved it for years and years. Hope to one day have a daughter (or niece!) to pass it on to so it’s a very special gift and something I treasure. If she gets Christmas/birthday money from other people you can sit with her and choose more bits!

Kayte198999 · 17/11/2023 16:11

Glittery fashion jewellery, fun stationery, pens, rubbers she can use for school, cinema vouchers or membership. Does she have the Barbies that you put in water and they change colour? They're pretty cool

stayathomer · 17/11/2023 16:12

A care bear? Bop it? Dobble? A book and some sweets? A board game?

Kayte198999 · 17/11/2023 16:13

You'd have to clear it with the parents but how about fun wall decals for her room? Or fairy lights or colour changing LEDs
