Tube in London after concerts.

I've somehow managed to get Taylor Swift tickets for next August.

Hotels near Wembley now stupidly expensive, not surprisingly.

My question is how late do the tubes run back into London? Thinking of staying somewhere central but don't want to be stranded after the concert with DD.

Fingers crossed there's no tube strike.
Honestly its a nightmare getting on the tube post concerts after the o2 IMO... i'd leave a tad earlier than finish.

Oops... you said Wembley but from experience my comment still stands.

Thanks all, I've booked in Ealing so will get the bus.
Is this easier than the tube in anyone's experience?

Same here, was just pure luck I checked my email and had a code and could be online at 1.30pm. I will have a very happy 16yo on her birthday in a couple of weeks. I had no idea she was doing extra shows?

hoophoophooray · 14/11/2023 22:16

I've decided to drive and I've booked one of the official car parks 5min walk away. Figured it might take an hour to get out of the car park but we'll be sat down and can stash snacks...

IronGwazi · 14/11/2023 22:19

Bus is a good idea but if you don’t need to go in the direction of the tube, make sure you don’t get stuck in the crowd going that way as you’ll reach a point where it’s difficult to get out. This happened to us after the Women’s FA Cup final!

GasDrivenNun · 14/11/2023 22:24

Book a hotel slightly further out from Wembley but near a Bakerloo, Jubilee or Metropolitan line station.

fishfingersandtoes · 14/11/2023 22:28

Last one is usually about midnight. You can check on city mapper.

gotomomo · 14/11/2023 22:31

I've taken the tube many times from Wembley then the overland to south london

kitsuneghost · 14/11/2023 22:57

Jubilee line is 24 hour

No it isn't. Only Fridays and Saturdays

I don't think they'll change the tube timetable for Taylor!

There are multiple stations from Wembley so head for the less busy ones eg Wembley Park

Eh? Wembley Park is pretty much the main station for the concerts.

OP I’ve just seen that you’re staying in Ealing. It’s not far from Wembley but not very well connected after concerts. Be warned that buses are re-routed away from the stadium so you might end up walking for a while.

SheSawSeaShore · 15/11/2023 14:05

I’m in the same position - had no idea there were extra dates but got an email with a code yesterday and managed to get tickets! But am now feeling very stressed about the travel/hotel situation - everywhere in walking distance is fully booked (of course) so going to have to gamble on being able to get on a tube but worried about being stranded 😱

HeidiWhole · 15/11/2023 14:33

Just managed to get tickets now also panicking Grin

Andywarholswig · 15/11/2023 14:59

Ealing is so easy for Wembley, you can get the 483 bus and is what I have always done when going to events at Wembley (and will do in June when I go to TS!)

Can you get the bus back though? I planned to get the bus home via Ealing but all the bus stops near the stadium were closed and buses apparently diverted. I walked for ages after the concert trying to find a bus stop from which buses were running to Ealing, but had to give up - I ended up at an Overground station and took an alternative route home. Is there somewhere in particular that the buses will run from?

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 16/11/2023 12:46

My daughter didn't get in the tube after Harry styles until 12.30 ish. If you can walk to Wembley Central it's much easier - about 20 minutes or so walk but straight on a tube.

izzybxx · 29/11/2023 21:34

Hey, this sounds cheeky asking but i’ve been trying to get tickets for the pink carnival summer 2024 tour in glasgow, however when I went to pop in my presale code it didn’t work and now it’s saying it’s expired…by any chance does anyone on here have a presale code that I could try and put it x

chickenpieandchips · 29/11/2023 21:41

There is a train station right by the stadium. After Harry (we left as he sang his last notes) we were on a train in 10 mins and Marylebone within 20 mins!

Dancingfairydreams · 29/11/2023 21:52

Once you get to the tube station, get on a tube going away from central London, go one stop & then cross over & get on the London bound train. I can't remember the station name, but I did this when I saw westlife last year, the train came in empty, I got a seat & was comfy before everyone piled on at Wembley.

ManAboutTown · 29/11/2023 22:21

The tube to get is Wembley Park as it is in both the Metropolitan Line and Jubilee line so there are a lot of tubes. There is a bit of queueing but crowd control at Wembley is usually good and they will run for at least an hour after the concert.

Wembley is way better then somewhere like Twickenham for getting back to central London

Claireywoo23 · 19/12/2023 13:08

Looking at combining the Taylor Swift concert and Harry Potter studios during a short break to London. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay? Looked at potentially Croxley or Watford but worried about tubes on that line running so late. Saw someone say tubes going that way are less crowded but assuming same issues getting into the station.

Glowlamp · 27/12/2023 09:09

I came on to check if there was a better way to get out of Wembley but looks like it’s all a bit of a gamble.
I was at the weeknd in August, we stayed until
the end (it was a Friday) went for a wee then got in the crowd for the slow walk to Wembley Park tube. It’s well controlled but takes an age. Patience is required! We got to the station (make sure you know exactly which tube and direction you’re going) and only just made the packed last train towards Aldgate. The photo I took going into the tube station was 23:23. We had to run and push our way onto tube but glad we got there. We stayed near Farringdon as looked at tube routes from Heathrow & to Wembley (Elizabeth & Metropolitan) so was convenient for us and to Covent Garden etc for shows/shopping.

I might leave a few mins before the end of Taylor, get an earlier wee this time and get slightly ahead!

You may be able to go to Watford from Wembley Central - the overgroubds go that route but not sure what time they run until. It's a bit of a walk (25 mins maybe) but no queues.
