MORPHY RICHARDS BREADMAKER Drop Down KNEADING Blade

So this might be the strangest question i've ever asked, but here goes.

I bought a 2nd hand MR beadmaker (48268) with a strange KNEADING Blade: it has 2 options, up and down.

think is, instructions say to put the ingredients when its up, but it extremely easily falls down.

Is this how its suppose to be? is there any logic behind it?
I'm making my first bread now and it doesn't seem to mix it very well.

Would appreciate some help :)

Thanks

I had an older one in which the mixing blade folded down (and still have the gin although the machine broke). In the newer replacement the blade doesn't fold down.
Mine is slightly stiff though, so does stay up when it's put up.

Its supposed to be up when you put in your ingredients - so you may need to hold it up while you pour in your flour and then the flour will keep it in position. It should stay up to mix/knead your dough

At the end when you take your bread out, it should be flat so easy to remove.

Good luck - mine never went flat and was a pain to get out the loaf without leaving a massive hole! Which may of course be the opposite problem to the one you may have...

Oh yeah, I forgot it was meant to drop down after it mixed. Mine didn't. Bread just came out with a hole in the bottom.

Thanks :)
Would be happy to know if you have any good recipe (Spelt?...) for this model

I would hold it up with a cutlery knife while you put the ingredients in then it'll stay up once it's surrounded by flour etc. It's supposed to stay up until the loaf starts to bake.

Mine never did the drop down function successfully (which is a shame as it's a good idea).

My breadmaker broke years ago, and just use a kitchen mixer to knead my dough now and then I shape it - easier and 1 less gadget hanging around.

I have made half white/half spelt bread at the weekend. That was nice - although kids frowned at it. It is heavier, and needed longer times to raise.
