Rid an insulated cup of the taste of coffee?

Grrr.

We have loads of these things, the screw top, cuplike flasks.

Adult DSs, who were once cadets have battered ones in black or khaki, that they can put whatever they like in.

I have a red one I use for soup at work and a pale blue one I have only ever used for plain hot water. I take it to football matches.

I went to fill it today, found it next to the sink with days old coffee in it. It wasn't there yesterday so who knows where it's been lurking.

Anyway I gave it a good scrub and filled it with hot water, which was absolutely horrible when I came to drink it.

Is there any way to save it or does one of the DSs owe me a new one?

Sterilising tablets.

Bicarbonate of soda and water, make a paste and use it to scrub the cup inside. Then leave it overnight with the paste on. Rinse really well in the morning and see how it is. It's a really hard thing to get rid of in my experience but I've had some success with that.

Steradent denture cleaning tablets are great for this. I use them on my flasks to get rid of coffee odours or tea odours (one of my friends loves Lapsang Souchong and it's like bloody perfume!)

Leave it soaking in Milton tablets

Sodium bicarbonate (think that is baking soda)
