Insurance for an empty property?

Does anyone know if this is possible and how extortionate this is?
DM died in January and her bungalow has been empty since.
The insurance has just come up for renewal (it comes to my email as I helped her to do it).
I know that standard insurance doesn't cover empty properties, so is there another alternative out there?
TIA if you read, and especially if you can help.

I had to get insurance for my DMs empty home - I just rang up the insurer and told them what had happened. They sorted out buildings insurance (we dont need contents as the property is empty) and we renewed earlier this year. Cost was less than the quote shed received.

Thanks, @Soontobe60.

OP do you live near enought to the bungalow to spend an occasional night there? My mum's house insurance was valid so long as the property wasn't empty for more than 60 days, so my brother and I took it in turns to spend a night there every few weeks until we sold it.

I think you can let it be unoccupied for 3 months, I had to do it when my mum was in hospital. Ring the insurers and tell them the situation.

We have a vacant house currently as we've not sold but moved already. I thought our current insurer would continue to insure when we told them. They wouldn't so we needed to get alternative insurance. It was more expensive but not horrendously so. Mostly it's specialist providers who do it.
