Can you trim an artificial Christmas tree?

There's a Christmas tree for sale near me. BNIB.
About 35% of RRP.

Really gorgeous full tree. But I need a slim one for the space I have.

On my budget the slim ones all look really raggedy!

Do you think I could but the fat one and trim it to a slim one?

It'll look shite if you trim it. Can you get a slim one and fill it out with some of that green garland? Or you can buy Christmas tree branches individually or the fillers

Presumably you could just buy a tree that suits? Why would you chop into a £300 tree?

Because it's not £300, did you read my post?

Do you have any idea how the branches are constructed? They are wire with the greenery on the end. If you trim that off you're down to the wire!

PortalooSunset · 10/11/2023 21:41

You could try but I suspect it will look just as even more raggedy.

AgMaggy · 10/11/2023 21:43

No, because if it’s anything like my realistic tree, the realistic bits are on the outer parts of the branches and the inner parts that make it look more full are more fake looking if that makes sense? They’re the standard cheap flat green fibres.

Pupadupa · 10/11/2023 21:46

Ah OK. Thankyou.

Was worth an ask!

I did. Ok, so instead of £300 read £200+

Same reply, buy one that suits your needs.

dylanschicken · 10/11/2023 21:49

Urgh, I misread the price info ignore the above Blush

Still, even at 35% of the price it's worth buying a tree to fit rather then cutting this one

Startyabastard · 10/11/2023 21:49

It will look terrible if you trim it, OP.

@Pupadupa that's a rude response. It's marked down on the picture you posted to £300, so I guess the poster presumed that was with the discount.

i think it would end up looking a bit crap, but I suppose if it looks a bit Crap you could buy the individual branches which might help or might look a bit crap.

still by the time you've put lights & decorations on it, I'm sure it'll look fine.

whats your budget for a slim line tree?? Someone might find one?!

I did, then when I read it again I thought it said 35% off so I made a total balls up.

Pupadupa · 10/11/2023 22:09

It's for sale near me for £80 bnib

That's my budget.
