I'll start. When my son was poorly he had to come in bed with his mama but since he's now better it's become a thing were he needs cuddles before going to sleep. Like I can cuddle for half an hour. He either falls asleep or stays awake but can put him in his cot no bother and he sleeps through till 9ish.

I just love that he needs me for the cuddles and love getting all snuggled up in the duvet with him. Sometime I end up falling asleep 😴 i know it'll pass but going to make the most of it ❤️

Anyone else got any cute stories 😌

Mu daughter used to fall asleep instantly if I put her cot sheet lightly over her face! I used to move it down a bit once she was asleep. It was literally like magic!

When DS (almost 2) wants a bit of quiet time, he brings a hairbrush over to DH and sits quietly for 20 mins while DH brushes his hair softly.

SisterMichaelsHabit · 10/11/2023 21:29

DD is just learning to talk. This week she learned "very dark" for the journey from the CM to the car, so now every day she adds "light on" because she wants me to put the light on... outside.

Seagrassbasket · 10/11/2023 21:34

DS has been OBSESSED with fireworks. Every bang we have to rush to the upstairs windows and stand him on the windowsill and when there’s a pause or it’s stopped he turns to me/us and says hopefully ‘mummy maybe we see anunner one?’ and it’s the cutest thing ever.

This is just ridiculously sweet. I bet DH loves it and finds it relaxing too!

WeightoftheWorld · 10/11/2023 21:37

My DS just turned 2 and has recently learnt "love", so phrases like "I love it!", "SisterName, I love you!", "I love nanas" (bananas!). Yesterday he was tired after a long day at nursery and we were on the sofa together, he was watching Peppa Pig. Suddenly he climbed onto my lap, put his arms around my neck, cuddled in close and said "I love you!". Heart melted!

I also remember my DD around the same age, she would often talk and sing to herself for a bit in the mornings when she woke up, we would hear through the baby monitor. One morning I was woken to her saying "I LOVE mummy. I LOVE daddy." Over and over again!

They are all gorgeous little things around 2, aren't they? Loving your stories too.

Mazuslongtoenail · 10/11/2023 21:40

Aren’t they @WeightoftheWorld its such a wonderful age. The cuteness is immense.

toddlermom9 · 10/11/2023 21:47

My toddler doesn't just say he loves me to the moon and back. He says 'I love you all the way to nursery and back' because apparently that's further than space 😁

toddlermom9 · 10/11/2023 21:47

So now when I'm telling him how much I love him, I keep saying 'to nursery and back' aswell! Haha

Minesril · 11/11/2023 09:45

The way they flap their arms when cross

Mispronouncing words. Glubs for gloves, lellow for yellow...I always get a bit sad when I realise they've learned to say something properly.

How small they are! You forget, when they're demanding you get up at five am, just how tiny they still are.

Their chubby cheeks and general squishiness.

When they show you something and tell you what it is and then kind of continue to look at it for a few seconds. Kinda hard to explain but it's so cute.

I hear so many bad things about the toddler years but I just love them and yes to all the squishyness. I think its definitely the cutest years. When you see them learning. Trying to say new words etc

This made my heart melt! Your DS sounds adorable

Another thing with my son. He loves to give lovies (cuddles) all the time. Literally to everything. Even himself 🥰

This is so sweet! I’m trying to teach my just turned 2 year old to say ‘love you’ but he’s not having any of it so far..

Mazuslongtoenail · 11/11/2023 11:35

I love this thread. Toddler years are intense but I can’t think of another time in life that I’ve felt so much love as when the crazy little things start to talk.

My DS also goes to the drawer and passes me his plate at 5pm everyday. It reminds me of how the Elf sets the clock by Nanny Plum’s tummy rumble.

Aww, my experience with two of them is that if you try and get them to say something, they don't like to say it! They can be quite contrary little things! So maybe dont ask him to say it, just model it within your family and im sure he will copy eventually!
