£150 budget for pots and pans - worried about non-stick but hate idea of the clean up!

Can anyone help? I've never had anything but non-stick, which is a godsend in a world of v little time and fighting against mess. But I'm worried about the little I've read re non-stick.

Any advice?

Another vote for Stellar. (Try TK Maxx). Mine are perfect after 20 years. (Clear lid version).
Then IKEA premium brand. Their 365 pasta pot is in constant use.
One Le Creuset Knock off for one pan meals as they look good on the table.

I bought Pro cook stainless steel set, and then needed to replace the large pan, I bought a Judge one, I would say the judge is better quality. Really nice pans, I don’t miss them being non stick, at all.

I am using an IKEA 365+ stainless set bought in 1996 - still good! Then I've got a variety of sizes of German designed heavy ceramic skillets from tkmaxx. (E.g.: CS koch systeme, Bergner), They wear out after about 6 years if you have inconsiderate amateurs forgetting the no metal tools rule! All go in the dishwasher too! Cheap can be good!

My Stellar pans (non stick, stainless with stainless handles) look just as good as they did when I bought them which is between 25 and 28 years ago. They are so easy to keep clean. You can often get good deals, or buy second hand - I'm having to change all mine as we've got an induction hob now for instance. And we are going for Stellar induction compatible this time (and saving the saucepans for when ds moves out next year)

@CMOTDibbler
University DC got the benefit of this gorgeous stacking set of pans when I changed to induction.
I still miss it…

I've had stainless steel pans for 20 years. They are still in superb condition. Whereas I've gone through many non stick frying pans in that time.

I wouldn't got for a matching set.

I like nice stainless for pasta, potatoes, etc. I have Ikea 365 which works brilliantly. And I can use metal tools in them, especially potato mashers. I have metal lids so that they don't break.
Cast iron for casseroles and meat: nothing with long wooden handles. I have a few casserole dishes of various sizes (Large, medium and shallow, all with lids; a variety of manufacturers).
A ceramic frying pan for omelettes and suchlike. Nothing too expensive as I know I'll be replacing it every few years.

Matching sets look lovely, but I find I always end up compromising on the function.

My JL stainless steel pans were a wedding present nearly 20 years ago and most are still going strong. I'm no domestic goddess, but even I find them easy to clean - I just soak them after use, then put them in the dishwasher. Any stubborn stains that remain come off with a scourer.

I have stellar heavy based stainless steel pans. They are excellent. Often they are in sets, in half price sakes. You can get them various places but I got mine at Harts of Stur.
