Caramac!! My beloved.

Milkybar gold is nothing in comparison.

I know this has been done so many times but what chocolate bars do you think should be brought back?
I always reminisce of echo bars.

I still miss coconut boosts. They were lovely. Coconut, soft fudgy toffee and milk chocolate.

I miss Drifters - they were Rowntree before evil Nestle took over.

My friend used to work in the Nestle factory and said that Drifters were made by sweeping up all the bits that had fallen on the floor while making proper chocolate bars.

SleepingisanArt · 08/11/2023 12:07

I saw that story on Facebook yesterday posted by Pastel. I read the comments only to discover that someone else in the trade called their Nestle rep who denied production was ending but that they would no longer be supplying Booker (a wholesaler).

@Nomorecoconutboosts

the company tried to deny it but apparently there was a mouse infestation at the factory where hazelnuts were sourced from:-

Mouse `found in Topic bar'

A WOMAN bit into a chocolate bar containing the head and shoulders of a mouse, a court heard yesterday.

Fry's 5 boys. I used to try to nibble & lick bits off each face.
Made a bar last a long time !

CitizenofMoronia · 08/11/2023 12:19

caramac is just white chocolate in the oven on a low heat till it caramelises.

I don't like caramac but am obsessed with Gold bars

Love Ceramic and Gold Bars.

Can't believe how small Gold Bars are now, though. Seem to recall they ere the same size as Club biscuits.

Verv · 08/11/2023 12:21

This is a fucking outrage.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 08/11/2023 12:24

I bought one two and it didn't taste as great as I remember but I love the thin chocolate and the snap.

qwertyuiopasdfgh · 08/11/2023 12:31

Quick! time to go out and buy chocolate!!

80sMum · 08/11/2023 12:33

I didn't know that Caramac was still available. I thought it was discontinued years and years ago! I don't think I've seen one since the 1990s.

VioletRosecream · 08/11/2023 12:36

Milkybar gold is vile it burns my throat so badly and the buttons are the worst god knows what they’ve put in it it’s like caramac and bleach

Sierra26 · 08/11/2023 12:39

Whatever you do don’t try the Cadbury’s caramilk buttons - honestly inedible, taste like chlorine

Ah it may be milkybar gold I’m talking about rather than cadburys caramilk. It tastes like chlorine and also burned my throat! First time I’ve thrown away a half eaten chocolate

Clevs · 08/11/2023 12:40

I love Caramac. It was sometimes hard to find though, not all shops sold it. I had no idea it had been discontinued 😞

LakeTiticaca · 08/11/2023 12:42

I'm outraged. How will I make caramac cheesecake now?

Same! Never ever thrown any U.K. chocolate away before in my life (have chucked away Hershey’s as it tasted of vomit but I even power through greasy Cadbury’s 😂😂) milkybar gold though 🤢

Tessisme · 08/11/2023 13:44

I love sweet stuff but I find Caramac bars way too sickly. Even as a child I always tried to engineer a swap if someone stupidly bought me one by mistake😆 However I can sympathise with a fellow human being, OP, as we all like different things. I'm upset at the disappearance of dark Bounty bars.

ZoeyBartlett · 08/11/2023 13:54

Devastated. Love a Caramac - although they always require eating two bars at a time.

Bassetlover · 08/11/2023 15:05

Banjo bars from the 1970's, nutty perfection!

foulksmills · 08/11/2023 15:34

Secret
Drifter
