I thought we should lo be able to see our NHS records on the app now?

But I can't.... still just medications and a drug allergy.
Does anyone know if I'm wrong, or does anyone know more than me about this?

I can see mine - right back to the 90s.

Helenloveslee4eva · 06/11/2023 20:27

Prospective notes generally unless you’ve got a special request in with your practice - so it’ll be added to as time goes on

CyberCritical · 06/11/2023 20:29

You might need to contact your GP and have them enable sharing.

If I go to the NHS app I can see medications, vaccinations, documents like letters from the hospital and summaries of any appts I've had for the last few years.

I think it varies by GP surgery. I’ve been able to view all my health records for a good while now, noticed it not longer after the app was launched. My surgery already had an online system though. My sister in the same town but with a different surgery can’t view hers.

I read somewhere that all GPs are going to be forced to at some point imminently though I’m not sure exactly when.

@YaraRocks, that's the thing - I thought the deadline was the start of the month!

I read somewhere last week that some of the Drs unions were objecting to this, so there has been a delay. However I’ve been able to see my records, going back years, for about 12 months.

Cookerhood · 06/11/2023 20:45

We had to request it from the GP.

itsallabitofamystery · 06/11/2023 20:48

Will depend what clinical system they're on. SystmOne and EMIS went first, the rest slightly later. Previous posters are right that you might have to request it from your surgery if you've previously not consented.

Regarding the push back, this is to try stop patients from interpreting their results. For example, your scan results may hit the GP clinical system before the GP has time to review and then summarise to the patient. Patients will be able to see the letters as soon as they land, which may then generate urgent calls into the practice. I can see the pros and cons for a compete open access to records.

SwedishEdith · 06/11/2023 20:53

I can't even email my surgery so suspect it'll be sometime in 2039 before I can see mine.

The surgery uses SystmOne, so I've no idea!

It says from November 2023 onwards which could mean from 1st Nov or from 30th Nov, also the 'onwards' leaves room for flexibility.

TomAllensWhiskMic · 06/11/2023 21:04

The deadline has been delayed.

DD was a patient at UCLH. I could access all clinic summaries, letters, appointments, test results and messages at any time through her online portal. I told them I’d prefer to see test results asap, rather than wait 6 months for a face to face appointment to hear them discuss it.

It was so much better! For instance, she had an appointment with a consultant at another hospital - I could show him, the test results, reasons for drug prescriptions (within the clinic summaries), etc on my I Pad. It saves carrying around a lever arch file of all this information! Or, saying she had a shed load of blood tests elsewhere three months ago, but we don’t know the results!

itsallabitofamystery · 06/11/2023 21:07

@vipersnest1 hmmm then I'd say you've either previously not consented or your practice is one of those who have pushed back. I'm SystmOne and I've full view except the contentious clinical letters. They're obviously not accepting that change yet.

theduchessofspork · 06/11/2023 21:08

I think you have to ask them

It's the latter. They're just miles behind in terms of anything technology based. I have been trialling HRT and I'm due a review, so I requested one... I had a reply to say I needed to request the specific one I need. Clearly there is no-one there who is capable of transferring things from one area to another. Meanwhile I've ended up ordering more HRT privately.... 🤷‍♀️

The plot thickens.... for several days now I've been able to view current appointments and medications on the Airmid UK app. Still nowhere near as much on the NHS app - why are there so many apps to do the same thing?
I only stumbled upon the Airmid app by chance as I was having a dig around on the internet - I'm quite good at finding stuff. I can imagine there are loads of people out there who've never heard of it - I certainly hadn't.

No I can't see mine either. Only my last test results and Consultation with my new GP. On the NHS App. I moved gp twice in the last year. My gp before last. I could see up to 2000. But now Only as described above. And from 1965 my year of birth until 1999 was all paper. So don't know what's happened to all my historical history. I've just emailed my current GP. And another group. Lets see if I get a reply.
