Cat urine on wood - help!

Our cat has weed on stair carpet so much it has soaked through to the wood.
It stinks!

Have tried bleach and pet odour removal but hasn't got rid of the smell.

Anyone any experience of this?

Whilst we are at it how on earth can I get him to use a litter tray? He is 18mths and refused to ever use the tray! Tried different litters and places..he just looks utterly baffled by it!

Just come across this thread looking for answers myself! My cat wee'd on my wooden floor and I found using white vinegar and then afterwards hydrogen peroxide, really lifted the stain and got rid of the smell.
My cat also pee'd on the stairs so I cleaned it and put a bowl of cat biscuits there as apparently cats won't toilet near their food.
Not sure about the litter tray advice, but it's so frustrating 😕

I second soaking it with Vinegar.

I made a mix of vinegar and pet-care version of Zoflora, no water.

I have this problem with one of mine too. He took an aversion to the litter box. The vinegar solution works well and there is a spray that helps as well.

The bigger problem is getting the cat to stop doing it elsewhere. Our guy seems okay now, but there are patches of floor that are ruined and I'll never trust him again. He seems to go outside now and he doesn't mind going for a wee in an empty plastic box next to the litter tray if he's stuck. Oddball. I tried giving him his own litter tray as well, but the other cat claimed it, so it didn't work.
