Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, as always. The washer's on a quick, 15 mins, wash for my jeans already - I want them for work tomorrow, and I have some brisket in the slow cooker for tea. We'll have it with broccoli & cauli cheese, roast spuds, carrotts and Yorkshires I think 😋

Today I'm going to make our Christmas cake, with dd1, and some gingerbread dough to freeze to make a house closer to Christmas. I also want to make some spiced pumpkin muffins to top with cream cheese icing & maybe 6 mince pies, just because.

Dd2 decided yesterday she didn't want to bake with us. She'll be asleep a while longer anyway - she got up in the night to watch someone's stream of Adele's last night in Vegas (until January). Although, I think I hear her moving about already 🤔 We still have those couple of maths questions to look at so we'll do those at some point.

Dd1 wants her hair dying while the cake bakes, and I'd quite like to carry on my next sets of peg dolls, including a secret one, this afternoon.

I also want to write a list of stocking fillers to pick up when I go Christmas shopping with my friend on Thursday.

Tonight will be Self-care-Sunday, an idea pinched from another MN-er. Full scrubby shower, shave the bits that need it, loads of moisturiser & then settle down with Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles for today 😊 I might do a bit more, very slow, crochet too.

Driving home from a fab few days in London.

I've been presented with breakfast in bed and orders to stay put. So that's what I'll do for a little while. DH is downstairs making GF sausage rolls and I'm being given side eye by the cat. She came to us completely traumatised but she will now get up on the bed with me so that's a start.
When I do drag myself up I need to chuck some washing on and make a Christmas cake and some GF shortbread. Collect DD from her dads and get everything ready for school tomorrow. Weekends seem to go so fast!

Currently lying in bed with my DD, me on mumsnet, her playing Animal crossing after an hour of cuddles and chats.

We are getting up shortly to take the dog for a walk in the sunshine. We are going to get some fir cones whilst out so we can make bird feeders this week for the garden.

My DH will be back this afternoon from his weekend away earlier than expected so we are excited to see him. Our friends were due to join us today but can't as they are all poorly with Covid so we will have a little bonfire garden party just the 3 of us. We will have a little fire in the fire bowl, sparklers and a few fireworks. I have promised DD s'mores and I'm thinking toad in the hole & roasted shallots for tea.

@lucysmam I too am planning on some Christmas chronicles this evening, after my bath in front of the fire, candles all lit with a small glass of something, pretending I don't have a busy week and that it's Monday tomorrow.

Taking my DD6 to Blackpool for the day to Gruffalo funhouse then on to see the illuminations. A change of scene really to keep her entertained

Baby and toddler bundled in the car with the kitchen sink and we're driving to the continent to Center Parcs 🙃

@FortunataTagnips I'm employed as a classroom TA but there's a need for a 1-1 with a little one I spent much of last year with & was building a relationship with so I agreed to the 1-1 role since he already knows me. Had it been a different child, I might have been more wary than I already was about taking the role. Turns out, he's just as settled with me as he was last year, thankfully!

@Justonedayatatime11 lucky you! I'd probably end up with a bowl of bran flakes delivered, if I ever got breakfast in bed 🤣

We are heading out soon to do some clothes shopping for the kids, who both seem to have shot up in the last couple of weeks. Then home to cook a chilli for tonight's dinner and watch the football. We have a couple fireworks and some sparklers to do tonight, may pop into aldi for some marshmallows and cheap chocolate to melt. Actually I have an unopened bag of ghost marshmallows left from the kids' Halloween party so just the cheap choc to get!
My kids and I don't go back to school until Tuesday so one more night of freedom

Love the sound of your Sundays, OP and others. I have been half sick for about 2 weeks, you know when you are well enough to get on with life but feeling shit all the time. Its a virus thing coming and going and I'm exhausted so feeling sorry for myself. I've gone from exhausted legs to headaches to headcold to chesty cough to just plain tired again. I lost the whole day yesterday and mostly stayed in bed but still feel wrecked. I was off for a few days which was lovely but back to work tomorrow and feel like I'm not able for it. DS is playing a match which I should go to see, but I'll just get the last 20 mins as it will take me about an hour to get dressed I'm so slow. I have to take DD to gymnastics then and wanted to do a big shop while I'm out but now think I'll go to a cafe with my book instead. I'm annoyed as its a beautiful day here so I now feel guilty as well as crappy.

First time up in the hills since I broke my pelvis in the summer. It's been a long 3 months but finally getting back to normal.

Clearing out my wardrobe this afternoon as we're getting new ones. Who knew there'd be so much junk in there?

Dh has gone to neighbours to watch sports. Elderly neighbour who is lonely with no family so dh spends time with him once a week watching sport they both like.

When he’s back I’m going to the shops for ginger parkin ingredients and also chocolate cornflake bun ingredients. Dh had made pizza dough so it’ll be pizza for dinner. I did most of my cleaning yesterday but it is dry today so I’ll wash all the bedding and get it hung out. Do my baking too.

Red zone on tonight so if dh is watching that I might play Xbox once DDs are in bed.

DH has taken the dog off to the village for a walk, I’ve prepped dinner, beef is in the slow cooker with red wine, just need to cook the vegetables.
I’ve finished tidying the kitchen up, changed things around so it looks tidier. I’ve washed the dog’s outgrown coat, I need to look for a new one and I have some bits to return by Evri so will sort that out.
Lazy day today, not looking forward to the fireworks because dog is terrified of loud noises so we might end up going to bed early and watching tv to try and calm her 🤞🏻

We were up early for ds football, surprisingly cold this morning! Back home for a coffee and then will tackle the Sunday chores. Uniforms to iron, beds to change, floors to mop, Sunday lunch to prepare. I have a parcel to post and need to try and get hold of some sparklers to have in the garden tonight as we won't make it to an actual display. As it's a sunny day I will try and take the youngest for a muddy stomp somewhere to burn some energy before dinner too.

Once the dc are in bed I plan to have a long bath, scrub, face mask and settle down with my new book before bed. It's been a busy week and I really love that self care Sunday recharge.

Good Morning (nearly afternoon 😁)
Dropped DD 16 at work and popped a load of laundry in and set the first to dry.
Slow cooker mutton stew is done from being on all night so that will just need mash, peas and carrots for later.
DD 14 hates stew so I am making a batch of bolognaise and she will have some of that.
I will collect DD from work and carry on with the laundry pile and then prep the veg.
Might do an apple crumble with the last of the windfalls.
Going for a wild swim/dip later with my friend and her dog. Need to make a flask of hot choc for after.
Later will be a glass of red with the last chunk of my book in front of the fire.
It's the most recent in the detective Strike series and it's blummin good.

Emptied the dishwasher
Just had coffee and croissant whilst catching up with Payback
Going to prepare a roast and make some banana bread
Will pick Dd up at 4.00 then have dinner
No plans for later probably just watch tv or do some family history research

We have Sunday roast in the oven and will go swimming, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi this afternoon. DD is off into town.

Morning everyone, well technically afternoon now!

I got up earlier than planned, I had a covid booster Friday and really regret it (again), I forgot how awful it makes me feel.

Had a brief video call with the grandchildren.

Washed up from last night and put a load of washing out (doesn't seem to want to stay on the line, frustratingly).
Another load in the dryer and in the machine to wash.
I'm behind with my laundry, as I've been doing my daughter's as her machine is playing up again.

Went to pick up my daughter and little ones to do the shopping.

And home again for crumpets and coffee.

Later I'll go pick up DH from work and pick up some extra bits I couldn't get in aldi this morning.

Roast chicken for dinner tonight I think.

Hi everyone. I’ve had a busy morning today, I’ve done 2 loads of washing (just about to put the third load in), I’ve been to a trampoline park with dd9 and met up with my sister and niece whilst there, I’ve been to Iceland to pick up the bits I forgot to order from Tesco and I’m just back home now. I’m going to make some lunch then spend the afternoon relaxing between laundry loads, we’re having bacon, egg, sausage, etc for tea then I’ll have a nice, long shower before sitting in the sofa in my pjs for the rest of the evening and I may have a glass or two of the wine I bought for last night but didn’t fancy drinking.

Ooooh! Cleaning demon today!!!

Im trying to deep clean and declutter but a wee bit at a time.
SO today it’s the hallway, shoe racks hoovered and cleaned, bag full of rubbish and bag for the charity shop! Got my new coat hooks up, ordered some cute mirrors for the wall and feeling accomplished!

Sun is out as well! A fabulous day today!!

Doing absolutely nothing today. I rarely get days to do nothing, so I'm having one, and I don't even care. Had a lie in, had some breakfast, had some biscuits with a brew, watched some tele. This will continue until dinner time when I'll make something quick and simple and then I'll have a bath and read for the evening.

I'm always very busy around Christmas because of my job so this Sunday is the last free one before New Year.

Cooking for the freezer, laundry and preparing for the week ahead as I’m away for a couple of days.

It is a beautiful day here.

I had a long lie in with dh. Then he brought me coffee in bed.
Dd & her boyfriend are here since last night so I've just made homemade Belgian waffles, crispy bacon & maple syrup with juice & coffee for bunch

Homemade chicken curry, rice, naan bread for dinner later.

Like a pp we're slowly decluttering & redecorating the house room by room & today I plan to tackle our bedroom. We have a new bed ordered but won't have it until the new year but the room needs a really good deep clean & declutter so going to start that today.

I also have tons of laundry to do so that'll be ongoing in the background.

Downstairs is clean & tidy so after dinner I'm planning on sitting down to watch an episode of all the light we cannot see

Productive day in the kitchen here! Mince pies, jam tarts, pumpkin muffins, and Christmas cake baked. Plus 3 loads of washing (big towels so split them up!), cauli cheese made, and fruit soaking for a cake for a friend's dad.

Roast potatoes are just cooking to go with the beef, and I'm enjoying a Southern Comfort and lemonade while they do so. Along with Spotify autoplaying me several new artists I've never heard of.

I'll be asleep early but have thoroughly enjoyed today - painting will be moved to Tuesday when I'm off work & I'll write my list shortly for Thursday's shopping trip 😊
