Evenings in a rut

What do you do in the evenings?
Every single night DS, 15, is on the computer in his room, DH flops in front of a film then bed about 8.30.
On weekends DH tries to get DS to watch a film -we’ve had John wick and last night was the equalizer. Just seemed violent AND boring! Which DS watches then scampers off to bed immediately. but it’s just..so..boring. I cannot for the life of me think how to break up the routine - I’m usually knackered by 7.
help! There must be more to family life?! What do people do?!

Crochet,
go out (alone/with friends or as a family),
go for a walk
board games
i actually love a batch cooking session
catch up on self care jobs eg hair removal 😂 obviously that’s probably a solo activity too
go to an activity eg choir
take an online course

Do you have 2 TVs? My choice would be watch my shows alone with a drink and some chocolate personally.

I don’t sit down until gone 8pm, then it’s TV or iPad. I’m in bed by 10pm to read.

He’s 15. Very normal! Were a family of 5 and the other 4 are football mad! So i watch TV in my room. Im not bothered by it. I do yoga in a studio one night a week. I bake, batch cook chilli or a lasagna, go for a walk.

Thanks all. Reassuring to know it’s normal. It just seems so..empty somehow. I always imagined ds would have mates round, there’d be cats and kids and chaos. Instead it feel s like thee is ticking clock and just silence.
