Dd had the mmr jab 9 days ago and today she is so so irritable ! Really grumpy, just crying at everything, no temp but she does have the odd spot, one on her tummy, one on her face, could this be a slight measles rash? Can I expect it to get worse ?
I'm thinking she's probably feeling rubbish due to the jab as I don't think it's her teeth (given teething gel and nurofen and still seems really unhappy) any experience is it likely to be from the jab? Now she's a demanding baby but she isn't usually this bad lol

Bumping
Dd has woken up screaming like she's in absolute agony, managed to give some nurofen and she's back to sleep
Any experiences please ??

Did you get an information leaflet? Have a look in there if you did. I'm sure it says tgat babies can develop a fever at around 10 days

willingtolearn · 02/11/2023 22:11

From the NHS website:

MMR side effects:

  • around 7 to 11 days after the injection, babies or young children may feel a bit unwell or develop a high temperature for about 2 or 3 days

No i didn't get a leaflet. She hasn't got a temp just seems like she's hurting but no idea what it could be? This afternoon she was so so grumpy and upset, I couldn't even look at her without her crying at me, then she perked up, drank her milk and fell asleep but has now woken up screaming

Here's the link: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/mmr-vaccine/

It does mention a bruising rash under 'rare side effects' - it doesn't sound exactly like what you're describing, but would be worth checking out with your GP.

You could always ring 111 - they will do an assessment and may suggest an OOH GP or perhaps a conversation with a clinician.

I might call the gp tomorrow and see if they'll see her. She was fine this morning 🤷‍♀️

It's always at night, or even worse, at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend.

Hope you get some help and that she feels better soon.

crankit · 02/11/2023 22:25

Thank you. Might be in for a long night

Hope your baby settled down and had a better night OP. It's hard when they're so small.

crankit · 03/11/2023 10:20

Dd settled down eventually with the nurofen so no idea if it was a tummy ache!! She seems absolutely fine today so far but she has come out in a rash which I'm guessing is the measles part of the vaccine ! It's hard to pick up with the camera but it's easy to see with the naked eye
