Any radiologists around? It's a little bit urgent

Help! I have a bone density scan today ( for menopause) it was booked months ago, but I also have an MRI scan ( without contrast )booked for later today for a herniated disc and pelvic pain. It's a few hours after the bone density scan. Is this going to be ok? It never occurred to me until now that it the first could impact the second when I booked them, I just went for the first available dates ( I'm not in UK)

Not a radiologist but why would an MRI be affected by having had a bone density scan?

Lovemychair · 02/11/2023 06:37

I used to be a radiographer and there is no problem having both of these done.

No issue that way round. And only an issue the other way if contrast.

( not a radiologist btw)

I’m also not a radiologist but know a bit about the bone density scans.
It’s such a tiny amount of radiation involved, I think you’ll be fine op
