Loop ear plugs, would you use them for this situation?

Hey, thanks in advance for any advice.

Currently very very over stimulated by general household noise, loud children! One 2, one nearly 7. I’m prone to vestibular / silent migraine and this is a huge cause of one starting.

Loop ear plugs supposedly block out large amounts of background noise whilst still being able to hear conversation?

My question is, is it entirely irresponsible to use them whilst I’m the only adult in charge of their care during the times I’d most need to use them?

On one hand I’m absolutely desperate to sort of “turn down the volume” so I’m not as on edge and on the brink of crawling out of my own skin, on the other, I in no way want to put my children in potential danger. I’m anxious I’d not hear something happening or miss something important.

Massively grateful to anyone with experience or advice. Thank you.

Can you test them on an occasion where there’s another adult about to help if needed?

Great idea, and probably what I will have to do. Embarrassingly it’s just that they cost £39 and the penny pincher in me is reluctant to potentially waste it if they’re not suitable, but as I said in my op… I’m desperate 😫

I have the sleep ("quiet") ones and they block almost all the sound and I wouldn't hear the kids getting up in the night for example but I would hear a loud sound.

However, loop do different earplugs that do allow sound through. My husband has an old pair that he uses for noise sensitivity with a chronic health condition. I've just asked him and he says they let all the sound through, just at a quarter of the volume. My husband's have a channel in them to let some sound through (whereas my "quiet" ones don't). Unfortunately they don't match to the new names on the website but we think the "engage" ones are most likely similar.

I have the 'experience' loops and dh has the 'engage', he can hold a conversation with them in but I can't.
