Help me identify a classical tune

It’s been bugging me all evening. I remember singing it at school as part of an opera or operetta, or in a music lesson. It’s a perky tune. Maybe Gilbert & Sullivan? All I can remember is that it’s like a toast about how a young man will have to say goodbye to the fun as he’s about to settle down. Sorry it’s vague, but it was a long time ago! I know it’s a long shot, but maybe it rings a bell with someone?

Was it in English yeah?

Yes, we sang it in English- but it could have been a translation, I suppose! As I say, it’s a very vague memory- sorry!

Not the best recording, but could it be this? (English version of Non più andrai from The Marriage of Figaro)

My first thought is the theme to The Littlest Hobo.

It’s probably not that.

@UnderwaterSpaceCadet Yes! That’s it! Thank you!

I got slightly excited there thinking it could be 'Where is the life that late I led' from Kiss Me Kate before realising you said from an opera 😆

But great work on finding it, so annoying when you can't remember!
