Fireplaces and logburners - have you got yours lighted yet?

I'm in West Yorkshire where it's still quite mild for late October. However, apart from today, it's been miserable, wet and foggy since Thursday, making a nice fire quite inviting nonetheless. I wish I had one.

Pictures appreciated, especially with cats and dogs monopolising the hearthrug.

I WFH. I'm terrible for sitting on the sofa with my laptop on my knee rather than at my actual desk. I light the wood burner before sitting down. I do it more to brighten up the gloom than the heat

My neighbours have, so I have stocked up on new asthma inhalers, can’t sleep with the window open anymore and have to run an air purifier several hours a day. We have electric heating from a green supplier, and I wish everyone in crowded urban or suburban areas would recognise that no it isn’t a sustainable, scalable or eco friendly option to make those areas into a health hazard for people with asthma, and to increase the risks of birth defects and cancers for their neighbours.

Love all these cosy pictures, especially the ones with pets toasting themselves. Our twit of a dog won’t go near the wood burner unless you sit in front of it on the floor with him. He likes to be touching someone at all times.
