Is there a good place to sell books or is the charity shop the best option?

Got loads but calculating postage etc feels like a pita.Wondering if I should just do my bit and charity shop or is there anywhere easy with a good return?

DD and I have used those online sites, Ziffit etc, and did reasonably well between us (we had a lot of books to get rid of!). It's quite easy and the delivery company comes and collects.

Do NCT still do group sales? I sold an awful.lot of clothes and books there.

I sold some through Ziffit and webuybooks but the majority I scanned weren't accepted by them. Also a few that I sent in were rejected for not being up to standard. I've tried selling bundles on local fb too but they are generally pretty hard to get rid of! It's so annoying when new books are pricey.

Dobate to an oxfam bookshop

We sell small bundles of 3/4/5 on ebay, and ensure they weight/size just fits in the small parcel rate. It's the only way to make it pay. But that's only for relatively new releases from the most popular authors (Lee Child, Wilbur Smith, John Grisham etc).

Most children's books when to the charity shop, but we did also sell a few bundles of kiddies books to, i.e. a handful of Walliams and Dahl. Also batches of 10 or so of those small books of Thomas the tank engine and MrMen.

Librarian here, we sell our personal collection in the following order:

Ziffit
Webuybooks
Musicmagpie
Amazon (very occasionally)

It really depends what you're selling and you won't get much for most, especially fiction, but it is a great way to declutter. Nursing textbooks and crochet and craft books did best for us with Webuybooks. If you sell over a certain amount price wise the companies often add an extra 10%, look out for certain times of year when they do additional offers.

You're not going to get rich but we did manage to raise enough for a new washing machine at the start of COVID....

I give mine away on my local freebie FB group. They get collected too so no hassle

Anybody know where you get cheap boxes to pack them up in?

Corner shop. I use their crisp boxes.

If you want to sell I'd do it as a bundle of at least 10 on Facebook market place
