Chewy sensory things, in store?

Special needs DD has gone bananas chewing her hands to pieces, I think getting her one of those sensory chew necklaces might help but we're going on holiday tomorrow so even with Amazon next day delivery it won't come before we leave. Is there any stores that sell them I could go to today? If not would a baby teether help? She's 4 so I don't think she'll be embarrassed.

Ooh tricky, I can’t think of any high street stores that would sell them unless you got really lucky. I think looking for other silicon items would be your best bet - like those pop-it toys, or maybe a silicon spatula from a kitchen shop/kitchen section of a supermarket? I think those would be quite nice to chew!

Good idea about the silicone kitchen things! Thank you. I think we'll have to go searching and see what we find.

Have you got a Smiggle-type shop anywhere nearby - they sometimes stock chewable bracelet type things.

My cousin has always needed to chew things and used to favour those rubbery charity bracelets (although I have no idea if it's considered safe to do so?) but they're available everywhere at the moment alongside the remembrance day poppies.

No Smiggle shop unfortunately, I think she'd shove the whole charity bracelet in her mouth and choke but thank you.

In case anyone finds themselves in the same predicament, a silicone spatula had DD go from screaming to giggling to flat out asleep in the space of five minutes.

StarStarStar gold stars for @minipie !

Oh hooray!

I'm glad you've found something for now OP, but when you come back my autistic DD also chews her hands and I get silicone wrist guards from sensory direct which she loves to chew on instead, they also do the chewbuddy necklaces which she wears all the time. Their delivery is super fast and they've got a brilliant range of products.
