Please, before I lose my mind. Ds is 10 but he is tall and wears 12-13 clothes. We have tried everything to get him dry at night and been passed from pillar to post among various different professionals. We are using huggies drynights and they have leaked every day this week. I can manage in the summer but in the winter I'm struggling with the washing as I have 4 other dc as well. I wouldn't mind the wet nappies but I'm struggling with the wet sheets and having to replace the mattress every few months because the waterproof mattress cover has disintegrated again.

My DD is a deep sleeper. We tried the alarm at age 12 and it worked in 2 weeks! She never had a wet bed again.

Sorry, can't help with nappies advice although your local continence service may advise (unlikely to meet criteria to supply them though).
Do you involve your DS in helping to strip and remake bed, wash, change himself etc? Not in anyway as a punishment, just being positive "we'll soon have the bed nice and clean & dry with your help", as some for children it may help to feel he is involved in helping to manage this condition and feel less helpless about it.

I'd imagine you need to go into adult size pullups. Probably adult XS. My ds2 was still wearing them at around that age. I use the Incontinence mats that they use in nursing homes etc. - like these ones

This is the mattress you need for £149. You just spray and wipe off. No covers that disintegrate or crease. Very comfortable.

Got one of these for my dad brilliant
waterproof mattress no lose covers
take fitted sheet of use that to mop mattress
spray and wipe mattress
Sheet in washer on rinse and spin ready to be washed
you can get waterproof quilt and pillows
choose bedding that dries quickly no 100% cotton

Sending solidarity- have a very tall/heavy for age child who also not dry at night and on the met in mouth meds - we lift him at 1030 and this keeps him dry - hoping to scale back soon on this, sending solidarity as I know how tricky it is. Had taken ages to get anywhere with doctors. He also gets migraines and has dairy allergy. the alarm didn’t work for us as he is such a deep sleeper! He is getting a bladder scan too in new year. Good luck xxx

Please try the alarm, my DS was also a deep sleeper however writhing 2 weeks was dry with the alarm. It changed our lives.

But the tena pull ups for adults.
They have a very clear size measurement and absorbency guide on the packet.

foodtoorder · 23/12/2023 19:35

Or tena for men but they may not be absorbent enough.

wudubelieveit · 23/12/2023 19:45

we have a teen wetter but we've not used pull ups for years, apart from when she goes on sleep overs/not in own bed. We use a wireless alarm (you can use the vibrate only function if your other child sleeps in same room) and a washable continence sheet (like that below) over the other sheet that she changes herself in the night if needed, it only rarely leaks through that. i'm surprised though that your son is producing that volume of fluid at night, seems excessive so worth getting dose checked etc...has he tried oxybutynin instead of desmo?
