Please recommend me a treadmill for walking

Hey, please could you recommend a treadmill. For walking rather than running. Ideally doesn't take up too much space. For use in the evenings so doesn't need to be one of those ones designed for using at a desk. Is a budget of 1k reasonable? Thanks

I'm conscious it's Black Friday in a month so might time purchase for then.

I would have thought you could get something decent for far less than £1k. I have a JLL T350 that I've had about 8 months and am pretty happy with so far - like you, I only use it for walking, usually 5-6 days a week. Mine was £570 (though I did pay an extra £50 for installation, as I didn't have anyone to help me). To be honest, it's probably a bit higher spec than I really need, but I wanted the 20 degree incline - and I do find the incline really beneficial as it gets my heartrate up into the active zones without having to go super fast. Basically I just decided on my key features I wanted it to have, and read a lot of reviews, and that one won out for me.

It does fold up, but still takes up a fair bit of room, and would be too heavy to move about regularly, so it does depend on what space you've got. Make sure you check out the measurements of whatever you're going to buy, both when it's folded and open. But that said, it's side-on in the room, and because it doesn't have sides and you can see past it, it doesn't feel like it dominates the room.

I have this small treadmill. Slides under my bed. Good for getting steps in on bad days and goes up to 10km/h

No installation required
Just plug in and go

It's quite narrow so if you have a wider stride I would go with one of the higher spec models but it does the job and delivery was quick

I bought the Reebok ZR10 treadmill about 13 years ago (it was £750 then). I only walk on it. It's brilliant with lots of controls (including up to 15% incline). It does take up a lot of room, though.

There will be newer models.

Thanks all!

Is there anywhere I could go to try machines out? John Lewis? Or one of those Sports Direct type shops?

I bought one a month ago. Singularly my best purchase in last 5 years. On it right now.

I wear walking trainers and use it while working for up to 5 hours a day. I thought I would just check email but you can totally type etc. I only walk at 1.5km. Defo helps a little with fat burn too. If I actually watched what I ate I might lose a tiny 100-200g a week.

Great in Winter. May not get as much use in Summer but will see.

I have to attach my fitbit go my shoelaces, or it does not pick up the steps when typing.
