What is Leeds city centre like please?

Is it particularly multicultural?

I think its a bit run down at the minute, but regeneration is starting. We have Chinese Supermarkets, a Thai supermarket, and lots of little restaurants such as Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese. In the Market there is a large area of street food type booths with a lovely section of delicious food. As well as stalls selling vegetables I'd never even seen before, I like to try my hand at different recipes but had no idea what some stuff was. The helpful stallholder explained what they were and how to cook them. Lovely stall selling Polish Bread and Cakes. Chinese Ice-Cream - pricy but tasty. It's worth a visit.

I wouldn't call it run down.

The city centre is definitely multi-cultural, but it is very large, and so there are different characteristics in different parts of it. Sections are more focussed on students (there are 5 universities in Leeds), or on evening entertainment, or high end shopping, for example. It's a very diverse place with something for everyone, so your question is a bit unclear as to why you are asking. If all you want to know is about cultural diversity - the answer is yes.

Thanks.

My daughter is considering where to go to uni, and whether or not the city is diverse will be a big part of the decision.
