How can I lose weight?

I am 62, 5 feet 2 and weigh 9st 10. I carry all my weight on my belly, hips and thighs my arms and legs are slim. My Tdee says 1544 calories for maintenance.
I keep trying to lose 10lbs and I am getting nowhere it is affecting my mood.
I WFH full time so pretty chained to my desk all day although I do try to motivate myself to do a workout video before I start work and run up and down stairs etc.
I cook every day except Wednesday and Sunday when we eat out and we have the odd take out.
My DH is traditional and a meat and two veg, lasagne, stews etc so basically a hearty dinner kind of man. I have tried eating small portions of what he has and cutting down on carbs but I am getting nowhere. If I could buy ready meals for me, that would work but they all seem carb heavy and unhealthy.

I am going on a big holiday at Christmas and cant get excited because I feel so heavy and dumpy.
If anyone has any tips to shift this excess weight I would be really grateful.

Carbs aren’t an issue, we need to stop demonising them. Plenty of countries with lower obesity rates really enjoy carbs. The issue is lack of exercise. The workout videos are ok but you’re not moving throughout the day at all so you’re burning, say, 200 calories doing a 30 min video first thing which is great but then spending the rest of the day sitting around burning very little. The slimmest people tend to be the people who move around during the day. I know your job restricts it a bit but I’m sure you could pace the room from time to time. Maybe try switching the workout to the evening sometimes too.

If you want to escape beating yourself up and food 'rules', try Slimpod.,

Losing ten pounds should be doable. But I'd concentrate more on becoming fitter than your weight. It's more fun to become stronger and have more natural energy than it is stressing about calorie counting.

The thirty day shred by Jillian Michaels is a good basic routine to start with. You don't need any equipment, except trainers (and maybe a few light hand weights). It's not too long and it has an easy version and a harder one so you can follow either, and it goes up in difficulty, but I'd say do that at your own pace rather than aiming to do it all in 30 days.

I'd do this two days a week to start with, then add a third when you're more used to the routine.

Swimming and yoga are both good exercises to do along with it too.

Introducing fast days can be very useful. But if you don't fancy it, eat smaller portions and include lots of extra veg to fill you up.

Drink loads of water. Loads!! No drinking alcohol too or keep it to the bare minimum.

Remember that your weight will fluctuate naturally so don't rely on scales religiously. Better to check yourself against a pair of jeans and see how tight/loose they feel.

Good luck!!

If you're having smaller portions of what you're husband has and are not loosing weight I'd suggest having even smaller portions. Use a small plate and fork.

Thanks I will try the small plate and the Shred too
