No idea how you actively choose hard mode. Is it something you do when you have an account? I only don't do it that way if I fuck up, like putting a yellow letter in the same wrong place twice. I don't use elimination words. I'd probably confuse myself.

It's in settings @DahliaMacNamara I just changed mine because I don't use elimination words anyway except for once!

You just click on settings in top right corner and it's one of the options there.
