I’ve come back from holiday and lost my mojo. Trying to get ahead and plan for the week and running out of inspiration. I like cooking from scratch - this week I’ve made slow cooker lamb ragu, beef and lentil curry. But I seem to be leaning towards red meat a lot and trying to break that habit so looking for inspiration!

Not family because I live alone, but…
chilli (batch cooked)
one pot turmeric chicken and rice with a tomato salad
wedges, beans and cheese (was tired - ultimate comfort food!)

Embelline · 19/10/2023 16:27

That was meant for @Sceptre86

Great idea for a thread, I need inspiration too as I always fall back on the same old things.
Chicken curry
Bolognese
Mixed bean chilli
I’m going to do macaroni cheese tonight.

I use the Mealime app to meal plan and get a shopping list written. I pay for Pro now but used the free version for a good year first. And pro is only a couple of quid anyway. It’s great (if a bit American in terms of vocab and measurements)

Spaghetti and beef meatballs, homemade chicken thigh "kebabs" in pittas with salad, cheated a bit using colmans packet mix for seasoning but it was really nice and stayed moist because I used thigh meat. Beef casserole and mash, and tonight homemade egg fried rice with satay chicken curry and baby corns.

Yea that's it, then add it to the fried rice at the end. It's delicious.

dontgobaconmyheart · 19/10/2023 21:27

Nothing exciting as it's been a draining week and we desperately need to do a food shop but DP's cooked two - A basic mushroom stroganoff with rice ( lots of mushrooms to use up!) and some mango curried chicken breasts with Pilau rice, flatbread and a bit of salad.

My slightly tragic contribution has been jacket potatoes with various fillings on one night and tomorrow I'll be making a pot of casserole with whatever's left in the fridge before I get around to food shopping.
